Car Seat E-commerce & Fit Checking Software

This solution lets a parent pick a car seat by the child’s weight and height and the car it will go in, buy it, and register its serial number for notices. It also books installation help. The software is written for the seller, and no ready version exists.

Product status

Custom software solution, built to your requirements

Vehicle and child fit data, registration for safety notices and installation booking do not exist in any current GullySystem product, so this is written for the seller from scratch.

There is no published price, free trial or live demo for this solution. Scope and cost are settled in a written proposal after discovery.

Purpose and users

The fit check combines three facts: the child, the car and the seat. A seat shown for a car must be supported by data the seller holds for that combination.

The system does not certify a seat or an installation. It holds the maker’s data and the seller’s checks, and it shows both.

Modules

What is in the system.

Child and car selection

Takes the child’s weight, height and the vehicle, and lists seats entered as suitable.

Fit data register

Maker data for each seat against each vehicle, with its source and date.

Serial registration

Records the serial number and manufacture date of each seat sold, with the buyer’s contact.

Notice outreach

Finds buyers of an affected model or batch and sends them the maker’s notice.

Installation booking

Books a fitting at a store or a visit, and records who did it.

Workflows

How the work runs through it.

Choose and check

A parent enters the child and car, the seat is shown with the data behind it, and the order is placed.

Register and install

The serial number is registered at dispatch, and an installation is booked.

Catalogue and product data

What each product record holds.

Seat groups

Weight and height ranges, direction of use and fixing method as fields.

Vehicle list

Makes, models and years the fit data covers, with gaps shown honestly.

Source of fit data

Each fit entry cites the maker’s list or the seller’s own check.

Pricing and order rules

How prices and orders are set.

Price and options

Seat price with base, adapters or covers priced alongside.

Gift orders

A buyer can send a seat to a parent, with fit questions passed to the recipient.

Stock and fulfilment

From stock to the doorstep.

Serial capture

Each seat’s serial number and manufacture date recorded at packing.

Installation slots

Fitting slots by store and visit area.

Booking for bulky boxes, once the carrier’s service is confirmed.

Deployment

How it is set up and run.

Built for you

Designed alongside you. Afterwards it can sit on servers we manage, or on a cloud account in your name.

Phased

Fit checker and registration first, then installation booking.

Customisation boundaries

What can change, and where the edge is.

What can change

Seat groups, vehicle coverage, return rules and the wording of notices.

Where the edge is

Approval of seats, crash testing and installation standards belong to makers and testing bodies, not to the software.

Migration and training

Moving over and getting people ready.

Loading fit data

Maker lists are entered and spot-checked against the seller’s own installations.

Training

A session for the fit desk on reading the data and its gaps.

Support scope

What support covers.

Scope

Corrections to fit data screens, registration and notices, with a response time and contact named in writing.

Outside scope

New vehicle sources, other countries and installation partners are quoted as extra work.

Common questions

Questions about this solution.

Does the software say a seat is safe for my car?

No. It shows the maker’s fit data and the seller’s checks. The final check is made by installing the seat, with the maker’s manual.

Can buyers be told about a safety notice?

Yes, where the seat was registered and the buyer agreed to messages. The seller decides what to send, using the maker’s wording.

Is this a product we can buy?

No. It is custom software, written after discovery to one seller’s data and rules.
