Board Games & Puzzles E-commerce Software

A games and puzzles store or trade catalogue, configured so each listing carries player count, age band, play time, language and piece count. Shoppers filter by how they will play. Gifting, bundles and dealer ordering are included. Its limits are set out below.

Product status

Configured implementation on a commerce platform chosen in discovery

No existing GullySystem product runs a games and puzzles store. The storefront, catalogue and order flows are assembled on the platform you and we select in discovery. Trade ordering can draw on an existing wholesale product.

There is no published price, free trial or live demo for this solution. Scope and cost are settled in a written proposal after discovery.

Purpose and users

A games shopper searches by who is playing, not by brand. The catalogue follows that habit: player count, age band, play time and complexity are filters, and every listing must fill them in.

Scope: storefront, trade catalogue, orders, stock and returns. Rating games, testing components and choosing age labels are outside it. Those details come from the publisher and are stored as given.

Modules

What is in the system.

Storefront with play filters

Filters for players, age band, play time and type of game, built from fields on each listing rather than from free text.

Edition and language records

Editions, languages and reprints are held apart, so a shopper is not sold the wrong box.

Order management

Gift messages, bundles and part shipments sit on the same order record.

Stock by pack

Counts boxes, display units and cartons separately, with the pack multiple the supplier sells in.

Trade catalogue

Dealer logins with their own rates and minimum orders, kept apart from the consumer store.

Workflows

How the work runs through it.

Browse by play

A shopper filters by players and age band, reads the play time, adds a game and a puzzle to a basket and sees one delivery date.

Gift order

A buyer picks a wrapped gift, adds a message and the recipient’s address, and the packing slip leaves the price off.

Dealer reorder

A retailer repeats an earlier order by carton, sees the prices fixed for that shop and is billed on account.

Catalogue and product data

What each product record holds.

Play attributes

Players, age band, play time and complexity are fields. Each is filled from the publisher’s box information.

Editions and languages

A game can exist in several editions or languages, and each gets its own stock count and picture.

Contents and piece count

A puzzle lists its piece count and finished size. A game lists what the box holds, which helps with missing-piece claims.

Pricing and order rules

How prices and orders are set.

Bundles and sets

A game plus its expansion, or three puzzles at one price, is priced as a bundle that still deducts each item from stock.

Trade rates

Each dealer’s own rates apply to that dealer alone, and a carton minimum is enforced before the order is placed.

Gift options

Wrapping, a message and a hidden price are set on the order, not typed into a note.

Stock and fulfilment

From stock to the doorstep.

Boxes and cartons

Boxes are counted singly, and each carries its carton quantity so that a trade order rounds up correctly.

Scheduled stock sync

Where a distributor’s stock is shown, it is refreshed on a schedule and the page says which it is.

Careful packing

Heavy boxes and flat puzzle boxes are packed with their own rules, so corners and shrink wrap arrive intact.

Payments, returns and refunds

Taking money and giving it back.

Payments

Customers pay online through your gateway account, and cash on delivery is offered only where your carrier handles it.

Returns

A sealed return is restocked after inspection. An opened game is checked piece by piece before it is credited.

Missing-piece claims

The claim goes on the order with photographs, and your rule decides between a replacement part and a refund.

Admin controls and reporting

What the team can see and change.

Roles

Editors, order desk, packing staff and buyers each get a screen for their own job.

Reports

Stock by edition, sales by age band, bundle sales and returns by reason.

Approvals

Trade discounts and credit terms wait for an approver.

Integrations

What it connects to, and on what terms.

Payment gateway

Online checkout, switched on once your provider’s documentation and your merchant account have been reviewed.

Courier

Shipment booking and tracking for the carriers you use on light decks and bulky boxes, tested after their API terms are read.

Accounting

Invoices reach the books through a file export, or a connection sized after your accountant’s review.

Deployment

How it is set up and run.

Hosted for you

Choose hosting that we run for you, or hosting under your own name.

Phased launch

A core range opens first. Bundles and the trade catalogue follow.

Customisation boundaries

What can change, and where the edge is.

What can change

Filters, bundle rules, gift options and page layouts are adjusted to the way you sell.

Where the edge is

Age labelling, small-parts warnings and import rules stay with the publisher and your adviser. The catalogue shows what you give it.

Migration and training

Moving over and getting people ready.

Bringing the catalogue over

Titles, editions, barcodes and stock are taken from a spreadsheet or your billing system, then compared with a physical count.

Training

Short sessions for editors and the order desk using your own range.

Support scope

What support covers.

Scope

The written agreement names who answers your team, how many hours a month are included and what a fix covers.

Outside scope

Adding a sales channel, or rebuilding a large part, is priced separately.

Subcategory coverage

Where each board games & puzzles subcategory is covered.

Each subcategory is either covered by this solution or has a page of its own where its software requirements differ.

  • Family Games

    Covered on this page

The category solution already covers play filters, gift orders and bundles, which are the main needs of a family game store.

  • Strategy Games

    Its own solution page

Pre-orders, deposits, allocation of scarce copies and expansion compatibility need their own data and order flow, unlike a shelf-stock game store.

  • Card Games

    Covered on this page

Basket rules, variants and carton ordering sit comfortably inside the category solution, and no separate data model is needed.

  • Jigsaw Puzzles

    Covered on this page

Piece-count listings, a photo upload step and a claim log fit within the category solution without a different system.

  • Brain Teasers

    Covered on this page

Attribute-rich listings, small-lot stock and a return grade are handled in the category solution, so a separate page would repeat it.

Common questions

Questions about this solution.

Can we buy this as a finished games store?

No. Nothing is installed off the shelf. The storefront is assembled for your range once discovery is done.

Is it possible to try the software before committing?

No. A written proposal gives cost and scope. Nothing public lists prices, and no trial account or recorded walkthrough exists.

Does it tell us a game’s suitable age?

No. The age band comes from the publisher’s box. The software stores it and uses it as a filter.
