Box Packaging E-commerce & Custom Quote Software

This solution lets a box maker take made-to-size orders online. A buyer enters dimensions, picks board and print, sees an indicative price and lead time, uploads artwork and approves a quote. The converter’s own price rules drive the figures. Stock sizes are sold from the ordinary catalogue.

Product status

Custom software solution, built to your requirements

A configurator that turns size, board, print and quantity into a quote and lead time is written for each box maker, because every converter prices differently. Dealer ordering for stock sizes can use the existing wholesale product.

There is no published price, free trial or live demo for this solution. Scope and cost are settled in a written proposal after discovery.

Purpose and users

A custom box has no fixed price. The cost follows its length, width and height, the board, the printing and the number ordered, and the maker’s own rules turn these into a quote.

The solution covers the configurator, quote approval, artwork collection and hand-off to production. It does not design structural packaging, test box strength or run the factory floor.

Modules

What is in the system.

Dimension configurator

The buyer enters inside length, width and height and the style, and the screen shows what can be made and any limit on size.

Price and lead-time rules

Board, print, quantity breaks and tooling are applied to give an indicative price and a lead time, shown as such.

Artwork and proof collection

Artwork is uploaded against the quote and approved before the job is released.

Quote approval

A quote is confirmed by your staff and then accepted by the buyer, with an advance if you ask for one.

Production hand-off

An accepted quote becomes a production order carrying size, board, print and quantity.

Workflows

How the work runs through it.

From size to quote

The buyer enters dimensions and chooses board and print. The system gives an indicative price, staff confirm it, and the buyer accepts.

Artwork to proof

The buyer uploads artwork, staff mark any fault, a proof is sent back, and the job is released on approval.

Repeat order

A buyer reopens a past job, changes the quantity and receives a fresh quote on the same specification.

Catalogue and product data

What each product record holds.

Styles and limits

Each box style has its allowed size range and board options, so a buyer cannot choose what cannot be made.

Stock sizes beside custom sizes

Standard cartons are listed with prices and stock, and a buyer can switch to a custom size from the same page.

Print options

Colours, coverage and finishes are options, each with a minimum order.

Pricing and order rules

How prices and orders are set.

Quantity breaks

Price per box falls at stated quantities, and the table is visible to the buyer.

Tooling and set-up charges

A one-off charge for a new size or print is shown apart from the per-box price.

Minimum orders

Custom sizes carry a minimum quantity that the configurator enforces.

Stock and fulfilment

From stock to the doorstep.

Production orders

The accepted quote passes to production with its specification and delivery date.

Board stock

Board by grade and size is visible to planners so that a promised lead time can be checked.

Freight by volume

Cartons ship flat or made up, and freight is worked from volume and weight as your carrier quotes it.

Payments, returns and refunds

Taking money and giving it back.

Advance and balance

An advance can be taken on acceptance and the balance before dispatch.

Samples

A sample or prototype can be ordered at its own price and credited to the order where you decide.

Claims

A damage or specification claim is recorded against the job with photographs, and settled as you decide.

Admin controls and reporting

What the team can see and change.

Quote log

Every quote with its inputs, price, approver and outcome.

Conversion by size and print

Which sizes and print options become orders and which stall.

Lead-time check

Promised dates against actual dispatch for each job.

Integrations

What it connects to, and on what terms.

Production or ERP system

Accepted quotes pass to the system that plans the factory, once its import interface is understood.

Payment gateway

Advances and balances are collected through your gateway, tested with a small payment.

Accounting package

Invoices and credit notes pass to your accountant as exports.

Deployment

How it is set up and run.

Written for your price rules

The configurator is developed around your own costing, and the proposal says who owns the code once it is delivered.

Hosting

The service runs on hosting sized for the large artwork files that buyers upload.

Customisation boundaries

What can change, and where the edge is.

Rules are data

Board grades, quantity breaks, tooling charges and size limits are changed by your pricing staff.

Where the edge is

The figure shown is indicative. Your staff confirm every custom quote, and strength and suitability of a box for its contents stay with you and the buyer.

Migration and training

Moving over and getting people ready.

Existing price lists

Your costing sheets, past quotes and customer lists are read in and used to test the configurator against known prices.

Training

Quotation, pre-press and production staff practise on live quotes before buyers use the page.

Support scope

What support covers.

After launch

A support note covers contacts and hours, and how rule changes are made.

New work

A new box style or a second plant is scoped when requested.

Common questions

Questions about this solution.

Does the buyer get a binding price at once?

No. The configurator gives an indicative figure. Your staff confirm it, and the buyer accepts the confirmed quote.

Does it design the box?

No. It captures dimensions and style from a list of what you make. Structural design stays with your team.

Is there a product we already sell for this?

Not for the configurator. Stock sizes and dealer orders can use GullySystem’s wholesale ordering product, linked on the category page.
