A mechanic takes a filter off the rack and fits it. If that moment is not recorded, the part is never billed and the shelf never matches the count. Both losses are quiet, and both are yours.
Found out when the car is on the lift
Stock lives in the storekeeper’s head. The brake pads for that model ran out on Tuesday and nobody said so, so the car is stripped, the job stops, and somebody rides to the spares market. The delivery time you promised the owner went with him.
What each part carries
Code, category and what it fits
Part number, category, whether it is for a car or a bike, and the brands it suits. The storekeeper finds it the way he would ask for it.
Purchase price and selling price
Both sit on the part, so the margin on a job is not a mystery. Who you buy it from is on the same record.
A low-stock level
Set per part. What has fallen to or below it is on the dashboard every morning, before a car is on the lift.
Issued to a job card
A part goes out against a specific card. Stock drops in that moment, and the part is already on the estimate.
Removed, and it comes back
Take the part off the job card and it returns to stock. The count follows what happened to the car.
Nothing on the car that is not on the bill
The screen will not issue more of a part than the shelf holds, which is where most of the leakage stops.

Frequently asked questions
Does stock really go down when a part is fitted?
Yes, at the moment it is issued to the job card. Removing it from the card puts it back. What the software cannot stop is a part walking out of the store without being issued at all.
Can we keep parts for both cars and bikes?
Yes. Every part is marked as car, bike or both, and searched by the model it fits. A workshop doing two-wheelers and four-wheelers runs one store.
Does it place orders with our suppliers?
No. It tells you what has run low and who you bought it from last. Ordering still happens on the phone or WhatsApp, the way your storekeeper already does it.
