Gym Class and Batch Scheduling
Group classes and batch timings go on one weekly timetable, with a set number of places for each. Members book a place, and the instructor’s attendance list is built from those bookings.
The weekly timetable
Booking and attendance
A member books at the desk or through a message link, depending on how the gym sets up the timetable, and the booking holds one place until the class starts. A booked member who does not attend is marked absent. Repeated no-shows show on the record. The instructor opens a list on a phone and ticks who came. That list also counts toward the instructor’s pay, when the gym pays instructors for each class taken.
Classes and plans
Some gyms include classes in the plan, and others sell them as a paid add-on, so the rules differ from one gym to the next. The plan rules decide who may book which class. A member whose plan does not cover Zumba triggers a prompt to sell the add-on. The sale is billed from the same screen, so no second entry is needed.
What the client decides
- Which classes are included in a plan and which are paid add-ons
- How early a booking may be cancelled without a mark against the member
- Whether a waiting list moves up by itself when someone cancels
- Whether instructors are paid per class or on a monthly sum
Frequently asked questions
Can members book classes from their phone?
Where a booking link or member page is set up, yes. Otherwise the desk books on the member’s behalf from the timetable.
Does the system manage online or live-streamed classes?
No. It records bookings and attendance for classes held at the gym. Online delivery is outside this module.
Can one class be repeated across branches?
Yes. A class can be set at several branches, and each branch keeps its own places and attendance list.
