Manufacturing · Paper Bag Manufacturer Management Software

Keep paper reels, bag specifications, machine runs and cartons on one record.

Bag specifications, kraft and coated paper reels, estimates, flexo printing, bag-making machine runs, twisted rope handles, carton packing and delivery run through one record. Each customer’s size, gusset, GSM, handle and print plate are saved as a recipe, and the next order picks it up as approved. Reels are issued by lot. Finished cartons are counted against the invoice.

  • Bag sizes, GSM grades and handle types entered as you make them
  • Open orders and paper reel stock migrated
  • Changes to specifications handled by GullySystem staff when asked

Paper Bag Manufacturer Management Software covers specifications, reel stock, flexo printing, bag-machine runs, handle stock and carton dispatch. A customer’s size, gusset, GSM and handle are held as a recipe. Reels are issued by lot. Finished cartons are counted into the delivery note, so a missing carton can be traced to its run.

Where it breaks today

What goes wrong before the software.

Reels are bought in kilograms and run in metres

Reels are bought by the kilogram and run by the metre, and no one converts the weight into an expected bag count. A missing carton is blamed on the operator. It is never traced to cut-off length, core weight or the damaged outer wraps trimmed away.

Bag specifications live in folders of samples

Each customer’s size, gusset, handle and print live in a folder of sample bags and in the supervisor’s memory. A repeat order is rebuilt by trial on the bag machine, with a stretch of 80 GSM kraft wasted at every attempt.

Changeover time disappears

Moving between gusset widths and bag heights needs new formers, a new cut-off setting and fresh glue gaps. It costs hours across a month, and those hours are never counted against any order. Every estimate assumes the machine never stops.

Printed reels wait for bag machines

The flexo line finishes a reel while the bag machine is still busy with a different size, and the planner learns of the delay only when a customer rings to ask. By then the order is late and the printed reel sits unwrapped, picking up damp.

Handle stock stops runs

Twisted rope, flat paper tape and eyelets come from separate vendors. A run halts at the handle station because the stock was never recorded. The machine stands idle while someone phones around the market.

Carton counts and invoices drift apart

Bundles of 25 and 50 are counted by hand late in a shift, which invites slips. The delivery note shows one figure and the invoice another. Buyers notice, and the dispute lands on the accounts desk.

How it runs

How the work flows through it, step by step.

  1. 1

    Enquiry and specification

The buyer names a bag by size, paper, handle and print, often with a sample carried in. The specification is saved as a recipe with the artwork and plate number if the bag is printed, and the customer’s signed approval is attached to it.

  2. 2

    Estimate

From bag height and gusset the system derives reel width and cut-off length, adds trimming and wastage allowances, and prices the job on the paper, handle and glue rates now in force.

  3. 3

    Reel and print

The right reel is issued by lot. A printed bag goes to the flexo line first, carrying its plate number and the customer’s artwork approval, and only then moves to the bag machine.

  4. 4

    Bag making

The operator feeds the web through the tuber, forms the tube, pastes the bottom and cuts. Bags made, rejects and changeover minutes are recorded for each run by machine and shift.

  5. 5

    Handle fixing and packing

Handles are fixed where the bag needs them, then bags are bundled and packed into cartons. Each carton label shows size, count and batch.

  6. 6

    Dispatch and repeat

The delivery note is raised from the packed count. The recipe stays on file, so the next order starts from the same settings and the same reel grade.

Modules

What is inside.

Every module can be switched on, left out or changed to match how your team already works.

Bag specification recipes

Hold width, gusset, height, GSM, paper type, handle, print and pieces per bundle for every bag, with the customer’s approval attached. A repeat order never starts from a sample on the shelf.

Estimates and cut length

Work out reel width and cut-off length, add trimming and wastage, and price from the current kraft, handle and glue rates. The estimate keeps its working.

Paper reel stock

Track kraft and coated reels by GSM, width, core weight and supplier lot. The balance is updated after each issue to a machine, so nothing leaves the rack blind.

Print jobs and plates

Record colours, anilox roll, plate numbers and artwork approval for printed bags. See which reels are waiting at the flexo line and which bag machine each one feeds next.

Bag machine runs

Capture reel in, bags made, rejects and changeover minutes for each machine run, by operator and shift, so yield per reel can be read against the estimate. Rejects get a reason.

Handles and fittings

Keep twisted rope, flat tape and eyelet stock, with issues against each run and reorder levels for the common types. A run no longer halts at the handle station.

Machine schedule

Plan runs by bag size and reel width so that gusset changeovers are grouped. Printed reels are then not left waiting beside a machine that is running a different size.

Carton packing

Closed cartons get a number and a label with size and batch. The dispatch paperwork takes its quantity from the packed total, not from a second count at the gate.

Scrap and trimmings

Weigh trims, odd rolls, core ends and rejected bags, and record their sale to the waste paper buyer. Paper yield per reel then counts what left as scrap, with weights entered at the scale.

Customer orders and dues

Hold confirmed orders, tax invoices and payments by customer. Balances are shown oldest first, so the accounts desk chases the right invoice.

Solutions inside

The business modules it is built from.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

  • Estimate/Quotation Management

Quotes are built from reel width, cut length, trimming and the current kraft rate, and each revised price is kept with the first.

  • Bill of Materials

Each bag keeps its paper grade, handle, glue and print plate as a recipe, so a repeat order draws the same materials.

  • Stock Tracking and Alerts

Reels are tracked by GSM, width and weight, with the balance after each issue and an alert when a common grade runs low.

  • Batch and Serial Tracking

Each carton is numbered with its run and reel lot, so a customer complaint can be followed back to the paper used.

  • Production Planning

Orders are sequenced by bag size and reel width, so similar runs stand together and printed reels are not left waiting.

  • Work Order Management

Each run records the reel, bags made, rejects and changeover minutes against the operator and the machine.

  • Purchase Order Management

Orders for rope, tape and eyelets are raised when stock drops below the level set for each handle type.

  • Invoice Management

Tax invoices are raised from the packed count, and each customer’s balance is shown with the oldest invoice first.

Services

How we would put it in.

Setup, data migration, integrations and anything built on top.

Who uses it

One system, each person sees their part.

For the planner

Sequence runs by size and reel width, see which printed reels and handles are ready for the bag machine. Spot the order that will be late if a changeover slips by an hour.

For machine operators

See the recipe for the run, note bags made and rejects, and log the changeover on the machine when it happens. Entries are taps, not typing.

For the paper store

Receive reels by lot and weight, and issue them to the flexo line and bag machines. Balances are shown in kilograms and metres.

For dispatch

Pack cartons against the order, print carton labels and raise delivery notes from what was counted. A short carton shows before the van leaves.

For owners

Read yield per reel, open orders, scrap sold and customer balances without walking the floor, and compare what each bag size really earned against its estimate.

Reports

The numbers the owner asks for.

  • Bag yield per reel against expected count
  • Changeover minutes by machine and bag size
  • Paper stock by GSM, width and lot
  • Orders open by customer and due date
  • Scrap and trimmings weighed and sold
  • Carton counts against delivery notes
  • Handle stock against reorder level
Good fit

Who this is built for.

  • Makers of shopping bags with twisted or flat handles
  • Flat-bottom and SOS bag manufacturers for food and bakery use
  • Plants that print their own bag reels by flexo
  • Manufacturers of paper pouches and envelopes
  • Converters serving retail chains with printed bags
Honest answer

When it is not the right choice.

Made to fit

Adapted to your business before it goes live.

You are not handed a login and left to it. The product is set up around your records, your people and the tools you already use.

Bag sizes and paper grades

Your standard sizes, GSM grades and paper types are entered, so a new order picks from them and does not invent a new description each time.

Estimate rules

Trim, wastage and glue allowances follow how you price a bag today. Nothing is assumed.

Machine list

Each bag machine is set up with its size range, so the schedule respects what it can make. A flat-bottom SOS machine is never offered a twisted-handle order it cannot run.

Open orders migrated

Your buyers, unfilled orders and the reels in the store are imported from the spreadsheets you keep now. The store head checks a sample of racks before use.

Carton label layout

The carton label shows the fields your customers expect, such as size, count and batch.

Common questions

Questions owners ask before a demo.

Can it work out how many bags a reel will yield?

Yes. Height, gusset and reel width fix how many bags a reel ought to give. The run record then holds the count actually made and shows the shortfall.

Is printing required?

No. Plain bag making works alone. If you print, plates and artwork approval are recorded; if you buy printed reels, they are received as stock.

Can one size carry several handle types?

Yes. The handle is part of the bag recipe, so a rope version and a flat tape version of one size are separate items, each with its own handle stock and cost.

How are changeovers counted?

The operator logs the start and end of a changeover on the run. Totals by machine and bag size show which gusset changes cost the most time.

Can we trace a carton to its paper reel?

Yes. Each carton carries its run, and each run carries the reel lot that fed it. A complaint opens at the carton number and ends at the reel, the operator and the shift.

Does it handle reels bought in kilograms and used in metres?

Yes. Receipt is in weight. The system converts to length using GSM and width, so balances are shown in both kilograms and metres.

Can we plan machines to group same-size orders?

Yes. The schedule lists orders by bag size and reel width. The planner can stack similar runs and cut the number of gusset changeovers in a week.

Can open orders and stock be moved?

Yes. We import orders, customers and reel stock from your spreadsheets. Then the store walks the rack against the reel list before anyone relies on the balances.

How does it treat scrap?

Trims, odd rolls and rejected bags are weighed and sold, and the weight is kept against the reel they came from. Yield per reel then includes every kilogram sold off. The owner reads a figure that matches the scale.

What do you need to quote the setup?

A list of machines, bag sizes and users is enough. The written proposal follows a demo built on a couple of your own orders, so you see your own bags on screen first.
