Manufacturing · Software for paper bag manufacturers

Track every paper reel, bag size and handle type through forming, pasting and carton count.

A paper bag plant converts reels of kraft and coated paper into shopping bags, flat-bottom sacks and food pouches. The paper bag manufacturing software holds reel stock by GSM and width, bag specifications, print jobs, machine runs and carton counts. Each customer order traces back to the paper lot that made it.

At a glance

Paper bags look simple until a retailer asks for forty thousand pieces in three sizes with twisted handles and a two-colour logo. Each size needs its own reel width, its own former and its own glue setting, and none of that is written down anywhere the next shift can find. Sizes multiply fast.

Paper bag manufacturer software keeps the specification as the centre of the order. Size, GSM, handle, print and carton pack all sit on one record that the planner, the printing floor and the dispatch clerk read before they act. Nobody guesses. Share your requirements, starting with the bag sizes you run most.

How the work runs today

A customer sends a bag specification: width, gusset and height, paper type and weight, handle style, print colours and pieces per carton. The estimator works out the reel width and the cut-off length for each size, adds trimming and wastage, and prices the whole order from this week’s paper rate and glue cost. Plates or cylinders are made for the print. The customer approves the artwork.

On the floor, a reel is mounted on the bag-making machine. The machine forms the tube from the moving web, creases the gusset, pastes the bottom, and cuts each bag to length at a speed the operator sets by feel. Handles are fixed in a separate step on handled bags. Bags are counted into bundles and cartons. A finished carton is labelled with size, quantity and batch. Odd rolls, trimmings and rejected bags are weighed once the shift closes and sold as scrap, though that weight seldom returns to the reel that produced it.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for paper bag manufacturers without a proper system.

Paper is bought by weight and used by length

A reel arrives in kilograms and runs in metres. The yield per reel is never worked out in advance. When cartons come up short, the operator takes the blame.

Size changes eat the shift

Switching gusset width means a new former and new settings. Changeovers are written on a slate. Repeat sizes are rediscovered by trial every time, and the shift pays for it.

Print and bag stages lose each other

Printed reels wait in a corner while the bag machine runs something else. The planner finds out when the customer rings. That is too late.

Handle supply is a separate story

Twisted paper rope, flat tapes and eyelets come from different suppliers. A bag run stops for a missing handle and no one logged the stock.

Cartons on the truck differ from the invoice

Tired operators count bundles by hand as the shift winds down. The quantity billed and the quantity loaded rarely agree.

What the software does

What we would build for paper bag manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Bag specification master

Save every bag style with its width, gusset, height, GSM, paper, handle, print and bundle size, so the next order of that bag opens the approved recipe.

Paper reel stock

Every reel is logged with GSM, width, weight and supplier lot, then issued to a bag machine or the printing line against the job.

Estimates and cut-off length

Work out reel width and cut length for a given bag, add wastage and trimming, and price from the current paper and glue rates.

Printing and plate record

Record print colours, plate or cylinder numbers and artwork approval against each printed bag job.

Machine runs and changeovers

Capture reel in, bags made, rejects and changeover time for each bag machine run, by operator and shift.

Handles and trims

Keep stock of twisted rope, flat tape and eyelets, issued against runs that need them.

Carton packing and dispatch

Pack bundles into cartons, label each one, and let the delivery note read straight from the packed total.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions paper bag manufacturers ask before they call.

Can it estimate how many bags a reel should give?

Yes. From bag height, gusset and reel width it works out the expected count per reel. The difference against the actual count shows up on the run record.

Do we have to print in-house for this to be useful?

No. Plain bag making works on its own. Printing is a module, and bought-in printed reels can be received like any other paper.

Can we keep different handle types for one bag size?

Yes. The handle is a field on the bag specification, so one size can carry a twisted rope variant and a flat tape variant as separate items.

What does a paper bag plant pay for this?

There is no published figure. A demo uses your own bag sizes, and the written proposal reflects the number of machines and users.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
