Manufacturing · Software for solvent manufacturers

Hold every tank, drum and specification result against the solvent lot it describes.

A solvent plant sells one liquid in many packs, from ISO tanks and road tankers to drums and small cans. The solvent manufacturer software ties each lot to its tank, its laboratory results and its dispatch. Blend recipes, recovery batches and drum returns sit alongside.

At a glance

Solvent manufacturers blend, distil and repack liquids such as acetone, toluene, isopropyl alcohol and thinners. The product is judged by numbers on a certificate: purity, water content, density, colour and distillation range. A lot that cannot show those numbers is hard to sell.

This software starts at the storage tank, because that is where lots begin and where they get mixed up. Each receipt, transfer, blend, recovery run and filling is posted to a tank and a lot, so a complaint from any customer leads to one named drum filling. No tank goes unrecorded.

How the work runs today

The day opens at the tank farm. Operators dip the tanks, note temperatures and read the flow meters. Raw solvent arrives by road tanker or drum, is sampled at the gate and held until the laboratory releases it. Blending follows a recipe sheet of base solvent, co-solvent and stabiliser by weight, mixed in a vessel and recirculated. A distillation column handles recovered or crude stock, with cuts taken by boiling range and kept apart.

The laboratory runs density, water by Karl Fischer, colour and a gas chromatography purity check on each lot. Filling lines then pack drums, IBCs and cans, label them with hazard markings and weigh a sample of each run. Dispatch pairs every load with a certificate of analysis, a safety data sheet and a delivery note. Empty drums come back for reconditioning.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for solvent manufacturers without a proper system.

Tank stock and lot numbers drift apart

A tank is topped up from three receipts, and the lot label still shows the first. When a customer queries water content, nobody can say which receipt it came from. The trail ends there.

Recipe sheets live on paper

Operators blend from a printed recipe, and a changed co-solvent ratio is written in the margin. The next batch uses the old sheet and the product drifts off specification. Nobody notices until a customer does.

Certificates are typed by hand

Results are copied from the laboratory notebook onto each certificate of analysis. One transposed digit in density or purity reaches the customer. A small slip, a large cost.

Drum returns have no owner

Returned drums sit in the yard with mixed residues, and nobody records which customer sent them, whether they were reconditioned or what they were refilled with. The yard has no memory.

Recovered solvent loses its history

A distillation run produces cuts of different purity, and they are pooled in tanks that already hold stock. The origin of that stock cannot be shown afterwards. Buyers ask anyway.

What the software does

What we would build for solvent manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Tank and lot register

Record dips, receipts, transfers and blends against each tank, so a lot always shows which receipts went into it and how much remains. Book and dipped levels sit side by side.

Blend recipes

Hold recipes by product with base solvent, additive weights and tolerances. A new revision applies from a stated batch onward, and old ones stay readable.

Laboratory results

Post density, water content, colour and purity against the lot. A result outside the limit holds the lot until a named person decides what happens. Nothing ships by accident.

Certificates of analysis

Build the certificate from the posted results for the lot being shipped. Nobody retypes a figure.

Drum and IBC pool

Track empty drums, cleaned drums and customer returns with their previous contents and refilling history, so a drum is never filled with the wrong product.

Dispatch and tanker loads

Pair each load with its lot, certificate, safety data sheet, hazard labels and delivery note before the gate pass is printed. The driver does not wait.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions solvent manufacturers ask before they call.

Can we keep a recovered solvent lot apart from virgin stock?

Yes. Distillation cuts are recorded as their own lots with the source material and boiling range, so they never merge into virgin stock without a recorded transfer. Mixing becomes a decision, not an accident.

Does it print hazard labels?

Yes, once label layouts are set up from the details your safety staff supply. The text that goes on a drum comes from the product record, so a changed classification is edited once.

Can a customer ask for results on an old lot?

Yes. Search by lot or delivery note and open the laboratory results, the certificate and the dispatch record together.

Do we need the laboratory module if we buy finished solvent and repack?

Possibly not. Repackers often rely on supplier results and run only a few checks. The module is switched on only where you test. Otherwise it stays out of the way.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
