Manufacturing · Software for deep drawing companies

Keep each sheet coil, draw stage and annealing pass on one record per part.

A deep drawing company turns flat blanks into cups, shells and cylinders through one or more draws, often with annealing between stages. The deep drawing company software records the sheet coil, the blank, the tool set, each draw stage and the wall thickness checks. Trimming, outside plating and dispatch follow on the same job.

At a glance

Metal cannot be stretched into a deep shell in one hit without tearing, so most parts take several draws. Every extra stage adds a tool, a lubricant, a press setting and a place for the lot to get mixed up.

Job and tool tracking for deep drawing keeps the draw stages in order and ties the coil to the finished shell. Sharing your requirements starts with one part, followed from blank to final trim, to show where the stage count and the reject count go missing.

How the work runs today

Sheet or coil arrives in a set gauge and temper, and is slit or cut into blanks. A blanking press punches discs, and a draw press forms the first cup using a punch, a die and a blank holder with drawing compound on the sheet. Taller parts go through a redraw. Between stages the shells may be annealed to soften the work-hardened wall. Then come ironing, trimming, beading or piercing, and often washing and outside plating or polishing.

The press shop watches for wrinkling at the flange, tearing near the base and earing at the rim. Tools are changed between part numbers and sharpened after a count. A buyer rings to say a delivered lot has thin walls. The shop must find which coil, which draw tool and which shift made it. Most register books cannot answer.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for deep drawing companies without a proper system.

Stage counts and quantities drift apart

A part takes three draws and an anneal, yet shells counted at the first draw do not equal shells at the third, and nobody wrote down why. Losses go unexplained.

Sheet gauge and temper are not tied to the job

A coil with a slightly different thickness or hardness can change how a draw behaves on the same punch and die. The coil number rarely travels with the shells beyond the blanking press. That gap matters.

Tools are sharpened on feel

Punches, draw dies and blank holders lose their finish after a run, but stroke counts are not kept per tool, so tearing and scratching get blamed on the operator. The tool room guesses.

Annealing and plating batches mix

Shells sit between stages in bins and trolleys. Once two lots are loaded into one furnace basket or sent out together on one truck, separating them again is guesswork.

Wall thickness complaints arrive late

Checks on base and rim thickness are taken at the press, but they are not stored with the lot. When a customer reports thin walls after dispatch, the evidence is gone and the argument starts.

What the software does

What we would build for deep drawing companies.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Coil and blank register

Book sheet and coil by supplier, gauge, temper and heat, then record the blanks cut from each coil, the blank diameter and the weight of the offcut. Every disc has a parent coil.

Draw stage routing

Define the stages each part follows, such as blank, first draw, redraw, anneal, iron, trim and wash. Each lot is counted in and out of every stage, and the difference is shown.

Press and tool register

Hold punches, dies and blank holders against part numbers, with stroke counts, last polish and sharpening dates. The tool room sees which set needs work before the press starts tearing shells.

Annealing and washing batches

Log each furnace load by lot, temperature and time. Record the wash and drying step. Mixed lots in one basket are shown before the load is released to the next press.

Wall thickness and height checks

Enter base thickness, wall thickness, height and rim readings on a sheet laid out for each part. An out-of-range reading holds the lot at its stage until a supervisor decides.

Defect and scrap log

Record wrinkles, tears, earing, scratches and dents by stage, press and tool. Repeated causes surface well before a customer returns a lot, and each one points at a specific tool.

Outside plating and polishing

Send finished shells to plating, polishing or powder coating vendors with counts out, then match the counts back. Hold the lot until the finish report arrives.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

Common questions

Questions deep drawing companies ask before they call.

Can we see how many shells survive each draw?

Yes. Every lot is counted in and out of each stage, and the gap between two stages is shown with the scrap reasons recorded there. A loss is placed at the press that caused it.

Does it plan annealing furnace loads?

It records them. A planner lists the lots waiting for anneal and loads them by part and temperature, and the furnace log keeps who loaded what. It does not pick the best basket mix on its own.

Can one tool set be shared across several parts?

Yes. A tool can be linked to more than one part number, and its stroke count adds up across them. Each part keeps its own setup notes.

Is it suited to a shop with a single press line?

It can be, if the part list is long or customers ask for lot history. A line drawing a single shell for one buyer may manage fine on a log sheet and a fixed tool change routine.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
