Manufacturing · Software for digital printers

Price every click, track every file and finish short runs without a job bag.

Digital printers produce short runs, variable data and on-demand work from customer files on toner and inkjet engines. The software holds each file and preflight result, the imposed sheet, click counts per engine, consumables and finishing. Web orders, quotes and deliveries are linked to the same job.

At a glance

A digital printer wins work on speed and small quantities. Orders arrive as files, often through a web form, with no plates and little set-up. The margin is made or lost on click charges, paper, toner or ink, and on how fast the job moves from file to finished pack without anyone retyping it. Speed is the product.

Software for a digital printer treats each order as a file with a quantity and a finish. It records preflight, the imposed layout, clicks counted on each engine, the stock used and any finishing, so counts and consumables reach the job cost without a second entry. Nobody waits for the supplier’s monthly statement.

How the work runs today

A customer uploads a PDF for two hundred booklets. The front desk or the web order screen checks the page count, the size and the paper choice. Preflight flags fonts, bleed and colour mode, and a proof goes back if anything needs fixing. Once approved, the file is imposed and sent to an engine. Wide work takes a different queue.

The operator loads the stock, runs a test sheet and starts the job. The engine counts clicks, and the operator logs waste. Finishing is a short list: cutting, creasing, stapling or laminating. Parcels are packed with the customer’s name and order reference, and the delivery note goes with them. The invoice follows from the click count and the stock used.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for digital printers without a proper system.

Click charges are not matched to jobs

Each engine keeps a meter, and the monthly bill from the supplier is divided among jobs by habit, not by use. A colour-heavy job pays the same as a black text run. Margins blur.

Files arrive broken

Customers send documents with missing fonts, wrong page sizes and RGB colour, and the problem is found at the engine, after the job is queued. A sheet is wasted. Then the customer is called.

Web orders are retyped

An order from the shop page is copied onto a job slip by the front desk. A changed quantity is missed.

Toner and ink are consumed without a job

Cartridges are swapped when the machine says so, and nobody knows which jobs drained them or whether a certain stock is expensive to run on that engine.

Short runs hide the setup effort

A hundred copies of a flyer take as much handling as a thousand. Quotes ignore the time spent on proofs, queueing and finishing. Small orders lose money quietly.

What the software does

What we would build for digital printers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Web order intake

Take orders from an online form with file upload, size, paper, quantity and finishing, and create the job without retyping.

File preflight and proofs

Record file checks for fonts, bleed and colour mode, and store the proof and approval with each file version.

Imposition and engine queue

Group jobs by stock and engine, record the imposed layout, and see the queue for each machine.

Click counts and consumables

Log clicks per engine, colour or black, and match toner, ink and drum use to the jobs run.

Variable data jobs

Hold the data file and template for mail-merge or numbered work, and record which records were printed.

Finishing and packing

Track cutting, creasing, stapling, binding and laminating, with parcel counts and delivery note.

Pricing and invoicing

Price from clicks, paper and finishing, and invoice at delivery with the local tax and currency settings.

Solutions inside

The business modules digital printers use most.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions digital printers ask before they call.

Can customers upload files and place orders online?

Yes. A web form takes the file, size, paper, quantity and finishing, and creates the job record. Staff check the file before it reaches an engine, and the customer sees the status.

Does it keep click counts for each engine?

Yes. Each engine’s clicks are logged by job, split between colour and black where the machine reports them, so the supplier’s monthly bill can be compared with the jobs that produced it.

Can it handle variable data?

Yes. Each mail-merge job holds its source list and layout template. The first and last record printed are logged, so a reprint of a subset starts at the right row.

How is the cost agreed?

Pricing depends on engines, users and web order screens. Bring a regular booklet or flyer job and we will run it through the system on screen, then send the quote to you in writing.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
