Manufacturing · Software for bearing manufacturers

Follow each ring, ball and cage through grinding, assembly and noise test to the packed box.

A bearing is a stack of tight-tolerance parts that must be matched in the right clearance class before assembly. The software records ring lots, grinding runs, ball and cage stock, matching and test results against the finished designation. Noise or play traces back to rings and balls. Packing is checked against the order. Nothing ships unmatched.

At a glance

Bearing plants machine inner and outer rings from steel tube or bar, harden them, and grind the bores and raceways to micron tolerances. Balls or rollers and cages are fitted, seals are pressed in, and grease is metered into each bearing before it is tested. Each bearing leaves with a designation, a clearance class and a packed sleeve.

Bearing manufacturing software tracks the rings, balls and cages as separate lots that meet at assembly. Matching, noise tests and clearance readings stay on the lot and are never retyped. Share your requirements, from steel tube through the grinders, the assembly bench and the test rig to the packed carton.

How the work runs today

Orders arrive by designation, such as a deep groove ball bearing or a tapered roller bearing, with a clearance class and a seal or shield type. The plant plans from that code. Steel arrives with a mill certificate. Tube and bar are cut and turned into ring blanks, then go through hardening and tempering. Each furnace load is one lot. Trays come out numbered. Grinders then finish the outer diameter, bore, faces and raceways, and honing or superfinishing follows. Gauge readings for ring size and raceway profile are taken at set intervals.

At assembly, an inner ring, an outer ring, a set of balls and a cage are matched to reach the clearance the order asks for. Seals are pressed in and grease is metered. Each bearing then passes a noise and rotation test. Bearings are marked, coated with preservative, wrapped in paper and packed into branded boxes that the customer’s stores will scan, check against the order and shelve by designation. Rejected parts are set aside and logged.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for bearing manufacturers without a proper system.

Rings are matched by hand

The assembler picks inner and outer rings from trays and balls from a bin. Clearance depends on the fitter’s eye and a gauge on the bench, with no record of which parts were paired.

Grinding drift is noticed late

Wheel wear moves the bore size slowly. A gauge catches it late. A tray of rings then waits to be sorted, reground or scrapped.

Noise test failures are not traced

A bearing fails on a test rig. Nobody can say which ring lot, ball lot or grease batch went into it, so the whole shift’s output comes under suspicion.

Seals, cages and balls are bought in

Purchased parts arrive in boxes without lot numbers on the issue slip. A supplier problem cannot be pinned to a batch.

Packing mixes designations

Boxes are printed with a designation and filled by hand. A wrong clearance class is found by the customer.

What the software does

What we would build for bearing manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Steel tube and bar stock

Receive steel by grade and mill certificate, and issue tube and bar to ring turning by heat.

Ring lots and routings

Move ring lots through turning, hardening, grinding and superfinishing, with counts, hardness readings and rejects recorded at each step so a tray never loses its lot number.

Grinding and gauge records

Log wheel changes, gauge readings and size drift for each grinder, and flag a trend toward the limit before a tray of rings leaves tolerance and reaches the assembly bench.

Balls, rollers, cages and seals

Keep bought-in balls, cages and seals and own-made rollers under supplier or shop lot numbers, and draw them for assembly by designation.

Matching and assembly

Match ring and ball sizes to the clearance class on the order, and record the assembler, the machine and every ring, ball and cage lot used in the bearing.

Noise, vibration and clearance tests

Capture test rig results per bearing or sample. Hold lots that fail.

Marking, packing and dispatch

Mark, preserve and pack by designation. Print the box labels, then bill the customer once the packed count matches the order.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions bearing manufacturers ask before they call.

Does it handle both ball and roller bearings?

Yes. Ball, cylindrical, tapered and spherical designs each have their own bill of parts and checks, and the designations you make are entered at set-up. Nothing is assumed.

Can it record the matching of rings and balls?

Yes. The ring grades, ball grade and clearance class chosen at assembly are stored against the bearing lot.

Can the test rig send its readings?

If the noise rig writes a results file, we read it in. If not, the test operator keys each reading. We match the file layout to your rig when the system is installed.

Do you support bearings sold under a customer’s brand?

Yes. Each customer’s brand artwork reference, box layout and stamp wording ride on the order and come out on the label when the bearings are packed.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
