Manufacturing · Software for tile manufacturers

Keep shade, size and grade on every box so a customer’s tiles always match.

A tile plant presses clay and mineral bodies into ceramic or porcelain tiles, glazes and fires them, then sorts every piece by shade, size and grade. The tile manufacturer software keeps each firing lot, its sorted boxes and the pallets that ship.

At a glance

Two boxes of the same tile can look different on a wall. Kiln temperature, glaze thickness and body moisture move the shade by a small amount, and a customer who orders in two lots sees the line between them. It cannot be hidden.

Production tracking for tile plants follows the body from the ball mill to the sorting line. Each firing lot carries its design, size and shade code. Sorting splits output into grades. Boxes and pallets keep the lot number all the way to the invoice, so a reorder can be matched to the original shade.

How the work runs today

The body is milled, spray dried and pressed in sizes that depend on the order book. Pressed tiles pass through a dryer, receive glaze or digital print, and travel through the kiln on a roller line. Operators track press settings, glaze weight, kiln profile and breakage at each stage, noting the die in use and the shift that ran it. Some lines also polish or rectify edges.

At the end of the kiln the tiles reach the sorting line, where a machine or an inspector grades them by surface, size and shade. Premium, standard and rejected tiles are boxed and palletised with a lot and shade label. Sales staff quote the stock that is available in a single shade. Trucks load against the order.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for tile manufacturers without a proper system.

Shade differs between lots

A customer who reorders months later receives a visibly different tone. Without a shade code on each lot, nobody can say which stock matches. The dealer takes the loss.

Grade splits are not reconciled

Tiles leave the kiln as one flow and are boxed as premium, standard and commercial grade. The counts rarely add back to the pressed quantity, and the difference is called wastage by default.

Breakage hides in the process

Cracks, chips and glaze defects appear at the press, dryer, glaze line and kiln. Without a stage record, a single bad stage looks like general waste.

Design and size changes disturb planning

A change of tile size or digital design needs a die, new screens or new files. Planners lack a view of which sizes are scheduled where. Changeovers pile up.

Mixed pallets confuse dealers

Stock of one design arrives in several shades on one pallet. The dealer finds out when the boxes are opened at the site. Then it is too late.

What the software does

What we would build for tile manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Body and glaze recipes

Keep every body mix and glaze formula beside the lots of clay, frit and pigment used, so any tile leads back to what went into it.

Press and dryer log

Record press size, die, pressing pressure setting and green tile counts by shift, with breakage noted before tiles reach the glaze line.

Kiln firing lots

Give each firing lot a number, a kiln profile and a shade code, and keep it with the design and size that went through.

Sorting and grading

Enter premium, standard and rejected counts per lot from the sorting line, and see the yield against tiles pressed.

Box, pallet and shade labels

Print box and pallet labels with design, size, grade and shade lot, so a dealer receives matching stock and can reorder the same shade.

Dealer orders and dispatch

Reserve stock of a single shade against a dealer order, load pallets against it, and send the delivery note with the lot list.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions tile manufacturers ask before they call.

Can stock be held by shade as well as by design?

Yes. Every box and pallet carries the design, size, grade and shade lot, and sales staff can reserve one shade for a dealer’s order.

Does it handle both ceramic and porcelain lines?

Yes. Each line has its own process steps, sizes and recipes. Porcelain plants can add polishing and rectifying, and wall tile plants can omit them.

How does it reconcile pressed and boxed quantities?

Counts are taken at the press, the glaze line, the sorting line and the pallet. The yield from each stage is shown, with the missing tiles recorded as breakage.

What about tiles we buy in from other plants?

Traded tiles are kept as separate items with their own supplier lots and shade codes, so they never mix with your own production in a dealer’s order.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
