Manufacturing · Software for pneumatic component manufacturers

Keep every cylinder build, seal kit and leak test on record per order.

A pneumatic component maker turns honed tube, chrome rod and bar stock into cylinders, solenoid valves, FRL units and push-in fittings. The software holds each cylinder’s configuration, the seal kit fitted, the leak and proof test result and the serial number that shipped. Each order expands into its parts.

At a glance

A cylinder looks simple until a customer orders it with a particular bore, stroke, rod end, cushioning and mounting style, such as a clevis or a foot bracket. Thousands of combinations come from a few dozen machined parts. The order has to say exactly which build it wants.

Order and production tracking for pneumatic makers starts from that configuration. It carries the drawing revision, the seal kit, the test result and the serial number from the sales order to the packed carton, so nothing is retyped. Send a sample order sheet and the build options become the first screen.

How the work runs today

Distributors and machine builders send orders that name a series, bore, stroke and mounting, for example a 63 mm ISO 15552 profile with a rod lock. Planning reads each line against the drawings on file. One extra option code can change the barrel length, the rod diameter and the seal set at once. Planning then checks barrel tube, piston rod and end cap stock and releases a batch to the cells. Tubes are cut and honed. Rods are turned, induction hardened and chrome ground. End caps are milled and drilled for ports. Valve bodies are machined from aluminium bar or die cast blanks. Seals, wear rings and magnets arrive from outside suppliers in kits.

Assembly builds each cylinder to its configuration, greases the piston seal and fits the cushioning screws. Every unit goes to a bench for a leak check at working pressure. Some get a proof test or a life cycle run. Passed units are marked, boxed and packed against the distributor’s order. A complaint months later needs the serial number, so the team can find which seal lot and which bench result went with it.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for pneumatic component manufacturers without a proper system.

Configurations are copied by hand

A cylinder with a rod lock and a longer stroke is described in an email. The shop floor reads it differently from the office, and the wrong rod end thread is turned. Scrap follows.

Seal kits are matched to the wrong build

A kit that fits a 40 mm bore in one series may not suit the next series, and polyurethane, nitrile and low temperature compounds are not interchangeable. The mismatch shows at the bench. Sometimes it shows at the customer.

Leak readings stay on paper at the stand

The tester jots the decay in pressure on a sheet by the stand. When a distributor claims a leaking valve, the sheet for that serial number cannot be found. The claim stands unanswered.

Stock of honed tube is guessed

Aluminium barrel tube in many bores and lengths is cut to order, and offcuts pile up in the rack. Nobody knows whether the next batch can start from stock. Buying becomes a guess.

Drawing revisions reach the floor late

A revised piston groove is released in the office, yet the CNC cell keeps cutting the old one until a plug gauge rejects the lot. The cutting is wasted.

What the software does

What we would build for pneumatic component manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Configured cylinder orders

Take orders by series, bore, stroke, rod end, cushioning and mounting, and expand them into the parts and operations needed.

Drawing and revision control

Hold the current drawing and its revision against every part, so a cell works from the right sheet.

Seal kits and bills of materials

Each series has its own seal kit, wear ring and magnet set, listed with compound and temperature range, and drawn by the assembly line against the order.

Test bench records

Record leak, proof and cycle test results per serial number, with the pressure used. The operator and bench are named.

Tube and rod stock

Track honed tube, ground rod and bar stock by size and heat lot, with offcuts kept as usable stock.

Packing and dispatch

Box tested units to match the order, label each carton with series and serial range, and issue the despatch paperwork.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

Common questions

Questions pneumatic component manufacturers ask before they call.

Can it handle cylinders with many option codes?

Yes. The series, bore, stroke and option choices are set up with your engineers, and each order expands into the right parts. Rules for which options may combine are reviewed during implementation.

Do serial numbers link to test results?

Yes. A serial number carries its test pressure, leak reading, bench and operator. Pulling one up answers a distributor’s complaint without a search through paper sheets.

Is it suitable for a small valve workshop?

It suits a workshop with several machining cells and a test bench. A two-person bench shop making a handful of valves a week may be better served by a spreadsheet.

What happens to the part lists we already have?

Your existing part lists, drawings and open orders are read in from whatever files you keep. Your design staff check the configurations before the first order is entered.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
