Manufacturing · Software for spring manufacturers

Record each spring’s wire lot, load test and setting from coiling to packing.

A spring is made right only when its load at a set length is right. The spring manufacturer software holds wire coil lots, coiling machine settings, stress relief and setting records, and load test readings against each part number and batch. Customer drawings and delivery dates stay with the work.

At a glance

Spring makers coil wire into compression, extension and torsion springs, then grind, stress relieve, set, shot peen and test them. Wire diameter, coil count and free length are easy to measure with a caliper and a counter at the bench, long before the springs go for heat treatment. The load at working length is what the customer pays for. It is easy to miss.

Production control for spring shops keeps the wire coil lot, the coiler programme, the oven batch and the load test result together for each order. Drawing revision, wire grade and finish are held on the part. Share a drawing with your requirements.

How the work runs today

A maker of switches, seats, valves or machines sends a drawing with wire diameter, material, outside diameter, free length, number of active coils and a load at a stated height. You quote from wire weight, coiling time, grinding of ends, heat treatment and testing. Wire arrives on coils with a mill certificate and is loaded on a CNC coiling machine, which is set with the first-off springs measured before the run starts.

After coiling, springs go to a stress relief oven in trays. Compression springs may be ground at the ends and pressed solid to set them. Surface finishes such as zinc plating, powder coating or phosphate are often done by an outside process house. Final checks measure free length, load at height and squareness, and the tester reading is written on a tag that travels with the tray to the packing bench. Counted packs go out in boxes or on rods.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for spring manufacturers without a proper system.

The wire coil is not linked to the spring

Wire coils of one diameter arrive from different mills and tempers. When a spring fails its load test, nobody can say which wire coil fed it.

Coiling settings are not saved

The setter finds the right feed, pitch and cut-off after trial springs. A repeat order starts the trials again. Nobody wrote the numbers down. The scrap bin fills.

Oven batches are loosely noted

Trays of springs enter a stress relief oven at one temperature and time, and the log is a paper sheet. A customer asking for proof finds none. It is a gap.

Load tests live on the tester

Spring testers show load at height on a screen. Readings are rarely stored with the batch, so a field complaint cannot be compared with the shop result. Arguments follow.

Counts are estimated

Springs are packed by weight or by hand count. An order is delivered short or long, and the customer finds the difference before the shop does.

What the software does

What we would build for spring manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Spring drawing and specification register

Hold wire grade, diameter, coil count, free length, end type, finish and load at height for each spring, with drawing revision.

Wire coil lots

Book wire coils with mill certificate and temper, and link the coil used to every batch coiled from it.

Coiling machine settings

Keep the feed, pitch, coil diameter and cut-off figures per part, so the next order starts from numbers that already worked.

Stress relief and setting log

Record oven batch, temperature, time and tray count, and note which springs were pressed solid or shot peened.

Load and length testing

Store free length, load at height and squareness readings per batch, and hold springs that fall outside the drawing.

Outside finishing

Track springs sent for plating or coating, count them out and back, and keep the finisher’s certificate with the batch.

Count, pack and despatch

Record counted quantities per pack, print labels with batch number, and close the order with a delivery note.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions spring manufacturers ask before they call.

Can I store coiler settings for each spring?

Yes. Feed, pitch, diameter and cut-off values are saved on the part. The setter opens them on the next order and adjusts only what the first-off shows. Trials shrink.

Is wire traceability available per batch?

Yes. The coil used for a batch is recorded with its certificate. A query on a failed spring opens the coil and the oven load that went with it.

Does it handle both wire springs and flat strip forms?

This product is set up for coiled wire springs. Strip and stamped forms can be added as extra part types, scoped with you.

Is it needed for a small coiling shop?

A shop making a few repeat parts on one coiler can often cope with a settings book. Several machines, plated parts and test records are where the system starts to help.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
