Manufacturing · Software for plating companies

Track customer lots, bath chemistry, thickness checks and billing through every plating job.

Plating company software follows each customer lot from goods receipt through the process route to dispatch. Racks, barrels, bath analysis, chemical additions and thickness readings are logged against the lot. Rejects and rework are recorded with their cause. From that one job come the certificate, the packing list and an invoice priced by area, weight or piece, as you quote. Traceability is kept.

At a glance

A plating shop works on parts that belong to someone else. Customers send fasteners, brackets, housings and fittings. The shop cleans, plates, bakes and returns them, with the thickness and the finish that the drawing asks for, and the count and weight must match what arrived. Nothing may be swapped.

The risks sit in the details. A lot loses its identity between receiving and the line. A bath drifts without a record. A certificate is typed from memory. The software holds each lot and each bath together. A walk-through follows one lot from the gate to the invoice.

How the work runs today

A customer delivers parts with a delivery note and a drawing or specification. Stores check the count, tag the lot and book it in. The planner decides the process route, such as degreasing, pickling, nickel or zinc plating, passivation and baking, and groups lots onto racks or into barrels according to size and finish. The line supervisor loads the tanks and the operators follow the route.

The chemist or lab technician tests each bath on a schedule, adds chemicals when readings drift, and measures coating thickness on samples from the finished lot. Rejects are stripped and replated. Effluent and sludge are logged for disposal. Packing, labelling and a certificate of conformance go out with the lot. Billing follows the price list agreed with each customer.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for plating companies without a proper system.

Lots lose their identity

Parts from three customers can look alike on a rack. A lot tag lost at the unloading bench leads to a mix-up. Nobody notices until the parts reach the customer’s goods-in bay.

Bath records sit on a clipboard

Analysis results, chemical additions and bath life are written beside the tank. Looking back to explain a patchy finish means reading old sheets. It is slow.

Thickness results are not tied to the lot

Readings from a hand-held gauge are noted in a book. A customer asks for evidence. Matching each reading to its lot, its drawing and its operator then takes an afternoon of patient searching.

Pricing changes by customer and part

Some customers pay by area, some by weight and some by piece, each with a minimum charge per lot. Every price list differs in small ways that the invoice clerk must remember. Mistakes are easy.

Rework and rejects are not costed

Stripping and replating consumes chemicals, labour and bath time, and the cost is usually absorbed into the shop’s overhead because nobody records it by lot, by cause or by customer. Which jobs lose money stays unknown.

What the software does

What we would build for plating companies.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Customer lots and receiving

Book in each delivery with customer, part, quantity, weight and condition, and tag every lot so it can be found at any stage.

Process routes and work orders

Define the sequence of steps for each part and finish. Planners issue a work order, and the line sees what is due at each tank.

Racks, barrels and loading

Record which lots went on which rack or barrel, with quantity, surface area and the bath they entered.

Bath analysis and chemical additions

Key in each tank’s analysis and chemical additions against its testing schedule, stamped with date and operator, so a bath’s history can be read back.

Thickness, adhesion and inspection results

Record sample readings and checks against the lot, with the drawing requirement and a pass or fail result.

Rejects, rework and stripping

Log rejected pieces with the cause, route them to strip and replate, and see what rework costs by customer and part.

Certificates, packing and dispatch

Raise a certificate of conformance and a packing list from the lot’s results, then record the delivery.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions plating companies ask before they call.

Does it cover anodising, galvanising or powder coating?

Yes. Process routes, lots and inspections are set up for your own finishes. Anodising or galvanising simply uses different steps, tanks and checks.

Can it print certificates for customers?

Yes. A certificate is built from the lot’s own results. Its wording and layout follow each customer’s requirement and are agreed during implementation.

Can it price by area, weight or piece?

Yes. A price list carries the basis for each customer and part, along with minimum charges, so the invoice is calculated from what was plated.

Does it manage environmental records?

It keeps logs of effluent, sludge and waste movements, with dates and quantities. What your regulator requires is reviewed during implementation. The software does not make compliance claims.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
