Manufacturing · Software for commercial printers

Run quotes, proofs, press jobs and finishing through one job ticket.

Commercial printers produce brochures, catalogues, books, forms and carton runs for business customers. The software holds each quote, artwork proof, job ticket, paper order, press and finishing step, and delivery together. Pressmen, prepress, estimators and bindery staff open the same ticket, so quantity, paper stock and delivery date read identically at every stage from proof to dispatch.

At a glance

A commercial printer sells a different product every day: a perfect-bound catalogue today, a run of carbonless forms tomorrow, a gate-fold leaflet on Friday. Each one needs its own paper, its own proof and its own finishing. The ticket is the product.

Commercial printing software starts at the quotation, where trim size, page count, GSM, colour process and finishing are priced. It carries the same ticket through artwork approval, CTP plate or digital file preparation, press, guillotine, folding and binding. Every department reads one set of instructions without phoning the front office.

How the work runs today

A customer sends a brief for five thousand A4 brochures with a matt-laminated cover. The estimator prices the 130 GSM art paper, plates or digital passes, press time, lamination and saddle stitching. The quotation states both the parent sheet size and the trim size. Accepted? It gets a ticket number. Prepress preflights the PDF for bleed, embedded fonts and CMYK conversion, then sends a proof for sign-off.

On approval the paper is ordered or pulled from the reel store, and the job is booked on an offset press. After printing, sheets go to the guillotine, the folder, the laminator and the stitcher in a set order. Packed cartons are counted against the ticket. Cartons leave with a delivery note. The invoice follows from the quoted price and any agreed change to the run, so accounts never retype a figure.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for commercial printers without a proper system.

Quotations and tickets are separate files

The quotation lives in a spreadsheet, and the job ticket is retyped from it by hand. A changed run length on the quotation never reaches the shop floor, and the press runs the old number.

Proof approval is a loose email

The customer’s approval is one line in an email thread, and the prepress operator cannot show which PDF version was signed. A reprint dispute begins with a search.

Paper is ordered per job and forgotten

Sheets are bought for a run, and the leftover pallet goes onto a rack unrecorded. The next quotation prices fresh stock that is already in the building.

Finishing sits behind a queue nobody sees

Printed sheets wait at the folder or stitcher while the promised date approaches. The pressmen have moved on. The customer is calling.

Outside work leaves without a note

Foil blocking, die cutting or case binding goes to a trade house, and the collection date and the return date live only in somebody’s head.

What the software does

What we would build for commercial printers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Print estimating

Price a job from trim size, page count, paper GSM, colours, plates or passes, press time and finishing. Keep each revised quotation.

Job tickets

Turn an accepted quotation into a ticket that carries sizes, paper, quantities, finishing instructions and delivery address to every department.

Artwork and proof approval

Log each artwork file, preflight status and proof version, with the customer’s sign-off and the date it was given.

Paper stock and ordering

Record sheets by size, GSM and finish, reserve them to a ticket, order shortfalls and keep leftover stock priced for the next job.

Press and finishing schedule

Plan presses, guillotine, folder, laminator and stitcher against due dates, and see which tickets wait where.

Outside work and trade suppliers

Send foil, die cutting or case binding to trade houses with a sent note, and book each job back on return.

Delivery, invoice and repeat orders

Print the delivery note, raise the invoice and keep the ticket as a template for the customer’s next order.

Solutions inside

The business modules commercial printers use most.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions commercial printers ask before they call.

Can a quotation become the job ticket?

Yes. On acceptance, trim size, paper, run length and finishing pass to the ticket without retyping. If the customer changes the run later, both documents show the revised figure, with the date of the change and who agreed it.

Can it handle jobs that use outside binders?

Yes. A note names the trade house and the due date when the work goes out, and the ticket shows as outstanding on the schedule until it is booked back.

Does it keep customer proofs?

Each proof PDF stays on the ticket, stamped with who signed it and when. Prepress can show the signed version if a reprint is questioned.

What sets the cost of the system?

Users and the departments you switch on set the cost. A demo made from one of your recent job tickets comes first, and the quote is written down after it.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
