Manufacturing · Software for resin manufacturers

Tie each reactor cook, test value and drum of resin to its recipe and its buyer.

Resin plants cook alkyd, polyester, epoxy, acrylic and phenolic resins in jacketed reactors and sell them to paint, laminate, adhesive and casting customers. The resin manufacturer software holds recipes, reactor batches, test values and drum filling together. Every drum can be traced to its cook.

At a glance

A resin plant sells a set of numbers as much as a liquid: acid value, viscosity, solids content, colour, hydroxyl value and gel time. Two cooks of the same grade are never quite alike. The customer still expects every number on the certificate to be true for the drum on the truck.

This software follows the cook from the reactor to the drum. Raw material charges, temperature steps, in-process samples and final values are recorded against one batch. A buyer’s question about gel time or colour then opens a single record instead of three notebooks.

How the work runs today

Operators charge the reactor with monomers, glycols, acids, oils or catalysts according to the recipe, then heat it in careful steps while the water of reaction is drawn off through the condenser. Samples are drawn during the cook for acid value and viscosity, and the cook continues until both reach target. The batch is cooled, thinned with solvent where needed, and passed through a bag filter into a holding vessel while the laboratory waits for the final numbers. Colour and solids are tested before the resin is run into drums or a bulk tank.

Customers include paint makers, laminators, adhesive makers and foundries, and every one of them buys a grade against a written specification that lists limits for the values the laboratory measures. Each expects a certificate with the lot. Rework is common. A batch that finishes high in viscosity may be thinned with solvent, blended with another lot of the same grade, or held back until the customer agrees to accept it. The record of what was added is what keeps the grade honest.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for resin manufacturers without a proper system.

Cook sheets vary by shift

Each shift keeps its own habits for recording temperature steps and sample times, so two cooks of one grade look different on paper even when the operators were equally careful. A repeat of a good cook is guesswork. Nobody can copy it.

Rework is invisible

Thinning a high-viscosity batch or blending two lots changes the product. When the correction is not written on the batch, the certificate describes a resin that no longer exists.

Test values live in several places

Acid value is on the reactor slip, viscosity in the laboratory book and colour on a loose sheet. Assembling a certificate takes a hunt.

Solvent and monomer stock is estimated

Tanks are dipped occasionally, and the book figure is a guess. A cook stalls because the glycol tank was lower than anyone thought.

Drum numbers are not linked to cooks

Drums are filled from a bulk tank that holds several cooks. Which cook went into which drum cannot be stated afterwards.

What the software does

What we would build for resin manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Resin recipes and grades

Hold each grade with its recipe, temperature steps and target values for acid value, viscosity, solids and colour, with dated revisions.

Reactor cook records

Record charges by weight, temperature steps, sample times and sampled values for each cook, with water of reaction collected.

Test values and release

Post final values against the batch and compare them with the grade limits. An out-of-range batch is held for a decision.

Rework and blending

Record thinning, extra solvent and lot-to-lot blends against the batch, so the certificate describes the resin actually delivered.

Bulk tanks and drums

Track which cooks went into which tank and which drum numbers were filled from it.

Certificates and dispatch

Build the certificate from the released lot and pair it with the delivery note and safety data sheet at loading.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions resin manufacturers ask before they call.

Can the system record the temperature steps in a cook?

Yes. Each step, its time and its temperature are posted on the cook, along with the water collected and any sample taken at that stage.

How is rework recorded?

The correction is a line on the batch: solvent added, lot blended in, quantity and who approved it. The certificate then shows the final state of the resin, not the first cook.

Is it suited to thermoset makers, thermoplastic makers, or both?

It records the cook, the test values and the packing, which suits most resin plants. Specific tests are added to match your grades.

Can we trace a drum to its cook?

Yes, provided drum numbers are posted at filling. When a tank holds several cooks, the record shows the proportion in each drum run.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
