Manufacturing · Software for drone component manufacturers

Track prepreg shelf life, cell grades and thrust test results to each drone part.

Drone component makers build carbon fibre frames, brushless motors, moulded propellers, speed controller boards and lithium battery packs. The software records prepreg roll life and cure cycles, magnet and winding lots, balance and thrust stand readings, and cell grading for packs, all against the serial of the part.

At a glance

A drone is only as reliable as its smallest part, and the parts are made by very different processes. Carbon layup, motor winding, propeller moulding, board assembly and battery pack building each keep their own records.

This software keeps them in one place. A frame carries its prepreg lot and cure log, a motor its stator, magnets and thrust reading, a pack its matched cells and capacity test. A buyer’s query is answered by serial.

How the work runs today

Orders arrive from drone builders and integrators for frames, arms, motors, propellers, flight controller boards and battery packs, usually in small batches with a fixed delivery week. Prepreg carbon is taken out of cold storage, cut to ply patterns, laid up on moulds and cured in an oven or autoclave to a recorded cycle. Offcuts are weighed. Expired rolls are logged.

On the motor line, stators are wound with a set number of turns, magnets are bonded into the bell and the motor is balanced. Propellers are injection moulded or pressed and balanced on a rig. Boards are assembled, flashed with firmware and tested.

Battery packs start with cell grading. Capacity and internal resistance decide the grade. The maker matches them, welds them into strings and fits a protection board. Finished parts go to a thrust stand or a vibration test, then to packing.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for drone component manufacturers without a proper system.

Prepreg life expires unseen

Rolls come out of the freezer and go back in. Nobody counts out-time. A frame is cured from a roll that was past its limit.

Cure cycles live on the oven controller

Temperature and time curves are held in the machine, not on the frame record. A delaminated arm cannot be compared with its cure.

Cells are mixed without grading

Cells of different capacity are welded into one pack, so a weak string shows up as a short flight and the maker cannot say which cell lot supplied it to the buyer.

Thrust readings are scattered

Motor test results sit in a spreadsheet on the stand’s computer, and a customer complaint about a motor that vibrates has no matching reading to check it against.

Shipping rules for cells are an afterthought

Packs are boxed in a hurry. The carrier’s lithium requirements are checked only at the dock.

What the software does

What we would build for drone component manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Prepreg cold store and out-time

Log each prepreg roll with receipt date and storage life, count time out of the freezer on every draw, and block expired material.

Layup and cure records

Attach the ply pattern, mould, cure cycle and oven or autoclave readings to the frame or arm serial.

Motor winding and balance

Record stator turns, wire and magnet lot, winding resistance and balance result for each motor.

Thrust stand and propeller tests

Enter thrust, current and vibration at set throttle points for motors and propellers, and compare them with the stated specification.

Cell grading and pack building

Grade cells by capacity and internal resistance, match them into strings and record the cell lots in each pack.

Board firmware and test

Log the firmware flashed to each flight controller or speed controller board and keep its functional test beside it.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions drone component manufacturers ask before they call.

Can the software count the time prepreg spends out of the freezer?

Yes. Each draw is logged with a time, and the running out-time is compared with the roll’s limit. A roll past its limit cannot be issued to a layup.

Does it keep cure cycle data for each frame?

Yes. A cure cycle is attached to the frame or arm serial, with the oven or autoclave readings. Readings can be typed in or loaded from whatever file the oven controller writes out.

Can battery packs be traced to the cells inside them?

Yes. Cells are graded and matched into strings, and the lots used are recorded on the pack serial. A capacity test result goes with it.

Does it deal with air carriage rules for lithium packs?

It records the pack data a shipper needs, such as cell count and capacity. Your compliance lead supplies the carrier’s lithium conditions, and the shipping step checks each pack against them.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
