Manufacturing · Software for electronic product manufacturers

Run the SMT line, the ageing room and the carton count from one record per model.

Electronic product makers turn out chargers, speakers, LED drivers and small appliances in runs of thousands. Software here follows a model from board stencil to retail carton: solder paste and reels used, test jig yield, ageing results, packed quantities and dealer orders. Warranty returns come back to the lot that produced them.

At a glance

A consumer electronic product is sold by the carton and judged by the return rate, often by a buyer who has never seen the plant and only sees the monthly defect figure. The margin sits in component cost, line yield and the number of units that come back dead on arrival. Each of those figures starts on the shop floor. None starts in the office.

Plants in this trade run a surface mount line, a manual insertion or wave soldering section, a test area and a packing hall. Software connects them with one record per production run. We begin by walking the line with you, from reel store to dispatch bay, noting where each run changes hands.

How the work runs today

Planning begins with dealer and brand orders for specific models and colours. The planner checks stock of chips, passive parts, PCBs, plastic housings, cables and packing cartons, then releases a run to the line. Reels come out of the dry store. Solder paste is logged, and the stencil is changed for each board. Moisture-sensitive parts have a floor life that the operator must watch. The clock starts when the bag opens.

After placement and reflow, an automated optical inspection catches misplaced parts. Boards go to a test jig, then to assembly where housings, batteries and cables are fitted. Finished units are aged on racks, tested again and packed into inner and master cartons with a barcode on each. Retail returns arrive later. They carry the date code printed on the cartons that shipped.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for electronic product manufacturers without a proper system.

Line yield is known only at month end

Rejects are tallied by hand beside the jig, and the sheet goes to the office once the shift closes. The total reaches the manager days later. By then the stencil, reel or jig that caused the loss has been used for several more runs. The loss repeats.

Moisture-sensitive parts expire unnoticed

A bag of chips is opened, half is used and the rest is left on a shelf beside the line while the shift changes. Nobody records the floor life. Boards built with exposed parts pass the first test and fail in the field. That costs more.

A returned charger has no run behind it

A retailer sends back twenty chargers, every one of them dead. The carton has a date code, but no sheet links it to the board lot, the housing supplier or the ageing rack it passed. The cause stays unknown. Nobody can say.

Brand and dealer orders change often

Colours, plug types, manuals and cartons differ by customer, and one retail chain may want its own barcode on every inner box. A change request reaches the floor by phone. Units are packed in the wrong box, and a whole pallet is opened again. Time is lost.

Component prices move faster than quotations

Memory, regulators and batteries change price between the quotation and the purchase, sometimes twice in a quarter. Cost sheets are rarely updated, so the real margin on a model is a surprise. It should not be.

What the software does

What we would build for electronic product manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Model master and bills of materials

One bill per model lists the PCB version, housing, battery, cable, manual and carton. A colour or plug variant is a small change to the parent bill, not a new file. Copies cannot drift apart.

SMT run and line records

Log the stencil, solder paste lot, feeder setup and reflow profile for each run, so a solder defect found at test traces back to that day’s paste and oven setting. Count boards in, boards out and rejects at each station.

Reel and moisture-sensitive part control

Receive reels and trays by lot, record the time a dry bag is opened and the floor life left, and flag parts that must be baked before use.

Test jig, ageing and final check

Record jig results, rack and ageing hours, and the final check on each batch. Rejects carry the fault code that sent them to repair.

Packing, barcodes and carton counts

Print inner and master carton labels with the model, colour and date code. Scan units into cartons so the packed quantity is exact.

Dealer, brand and distributor orders

Take orders by model and variant with delivery dates, and see what the line has built and what is packed. Partial dispatches are shown against the order. Balances are clear.

Warranty and dead-on-arrival returns

Book a return by date code, find the run it came from and record the fault, the repair and the credit. Repeat faults from one lot stand out. Quality sees them first.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions electronic product manufacturers ask before they call.

Can the system follow a model from the reel store to the retail carton?

Yes. Reel lots feed board runs, board runs feed finished lots, and cartons carry the lot code. Opening any carton’s code shows the whole path behind it. It is quick.

We make the same speaker in four colours. Do we need four records?

No. The speaker sits as one parent model with colour, plug and carton variants beneath it. Orders pick the variant, and the line sees the right housing and box.

Does it cover boards built by an outside assembler?

It does. Kits go out under a dispatch note and boards return against it, with defects and charges recorded. Your own line and the outside line appear in one report.

What does a trial look like for a plant like ours?

We start with one model on your line and show how its bill, run and cartons are recorded. A written proposal follows, and the cost reflects how many sites and users you have.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
