Manufacturing · Software for tablet manufacturers

Account for every granulation, compression run and blister pack from dispensing to dispatch.

Tablet manufacturers dispense actives and excipients, then granulate, compress, coat and pack the tablets in blisters or bottles. The tablet manufacturer software keeps batch records, in-process checks, yields, tooling and own-brand or contract orders together. Each pack traces to its compression run.

At a glance

A tablet plant converts powders into measured units. Dispensing, blending, granulation, drying, compression, coating and packing each leave a record, and each has a yield that must be accounted for. If the counts do not reconcile, the batch cannot be closed, and the missing tablets have to be found, explained and signed off by someone senior. That takes time.

This software holds those records against one batch number. Weights, hardness, friability, disintegration and weight variation are posted where they are measured. The packing hall sees the exact count of tablets released to it from the compression suite and the coating pan. Contract clients receive documents under their own product names. Brands never cross.

How the work runs today

The day starts in dispensing, where each ingredient is weighed against the batch card and checked by a second person. Powders are blended or wet-granulated, dried in a fluid bed dryer, milled to size and lubricated with magnesium stearate before the mix is moved to the compression suite in labelled bins. On the compression machine, the operator sets punches and dies, checks weight, thickness and hardness at intervals, and logs rejects. Coated tablets pass through a pan with a spray of coating suspension.

Packing hall lines run blister machines or bottle filling. Batch number and expiry are printed on every pack. Cartons are counted and cased. The reconciliation of tablets in against packs out must close. Clients on contract ask for documents under their own brand names, and quality staff review the completed batch record before anything is sold.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for tablet manufacturers without a proper system.

Yield is reconciled after the fact

Tablets compressed, rejects and packs filled are counted on different sheets. Reconciling them at the end of a batch can take a day. Gaps hide in the sums.

Tooling history is thin

Punches and dies wear, and the compression record does not say which set ran. A weight problem is not linked to a worn punch. The cause stays unknown.

In-process checks are scattered

Weight, hardness and thickness checks during compression are recorded on a clipboard. Trends over a long run are hard to see.

Contract brands multiply the paperwork

Each client has its own artwork, pack size and documents. Changeover errors in the packing hall follow. Cartons get mixed.

Line clearance is verbal

Before a new batch starts on a machine, the previous one is cleared by sight. No record shows who checked what. Proof is missing.

What the software does

What we would build for tablet manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Batch cards and dispensing

Issue a batch card from the master formula and record each weighed ingredient with its lot number, the balance used and the second person who checked the weight before it was charged.

Granulation and compression records

Post blending, drying, sizing and compression parameters, with periodic weight, thickness and hardness checks.

Tooling register

Track punch and die sets by use, with counts and wear, so a trend in weight can be matched to the set that ran.

Coating and packing records

Record coating pan loads and packing lines with counts, rejects, batch coding and artwork used.

Yield reconciliation

Close the batch by comparing tablets compressed, rejected and packed, with variance shown before the record goes to review.

Contract client orders

Hold the client’s product, pack, artwork and documents separately from your own brands, so a carton printed for one client is never fed to the line running another client’s tablets.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions tablet manufacturers ask before they call.

Can hardness and weight checks be entered during a run?

Yes. Operators post readings on a tablet at the machine, and the series is plotted against the limits so that drift in weight or hardness shows well before the run ends. It saves rework.

Does it support own brands and contract brands?

Yes. Each product holds its own formula, pack and artwork. A contract client sees documents under their names.

Can we track which punches made which tablets?

Each compression run records the tooling set used, so you can see the history of a set and the batches it produced.

Will installing it settle our standing with an auditor?

No software does that alone. It keeps the evidence of each step, while your quality unit decides the release rules and signs them off.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
