Manufacturing · Software for home appliance manufacturers

Link every appliance serial number to its armature lot, its hipot reading and its warranty card.

A home appliance plant assembles mixer grinders, ceiling fans, steam irons, room heaters and pressure cookers from bought-in armatures, capacitors, nichrome elements and ABS housings. The software holds the bill of materials per model, thermostat lots, line output, hipot results, serial numbers, dealer dispatch and warranty claims. A burnt winding in the field traces back to the batch that wound it.

At a glance

An appliance is dozens of parts from many suppliers, snapped together in minutes and then judged by a kitchen for years. When one lot of bimetal thermostats sticks closed in service, the plant must know which irons carry it.

The software ties the serial number to the stator, the capacitor, the leakage reading and the dealer. The shortage list, the service desk and the dispatch clerk read one unit record. Nobody argues from a private sheet.

How the work runs today

Each model carries a bill of materials: a stator and rotor or a heating coil, a speed regulator or thermal cutout, a polypropylene or ABS body and flex cable. Screws, a rating plate and a printed carton complete the set. Purchasing buys against the monthly plan. Incoming inspection samples armatures for winding resistance and coils for ohmic value. The store issues kits to the line by shift, counted out against the work order. Moulded bodies may come from your own press or a nearby moulder, and the colour, grain and mould revision must match what the rating plate describes.

The line presses the bearings, solders the regulator board, closes the body and walks each unit to the end-of-line bench. Hipot, earth bond, leakage current and no-load running current are logged against the serial number, in the spirit of IEC 60335-1. A mixer that fails in a kitchen can be matched to the reading it gave at the bench. Passed units are cartoned with a manual and warranty card. Rejects go to a rework bench with a defect code such as flash on the jar lid or a loose terminal. Finished stock leaves for distributors on delivery notes.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for home appliance manufacturers without a proper system.

A returned fan cannot be linked to its motor batch

Ceiling fans come back with burnt windings and a smell of varnish, yet nobody can name the stator lot inside. The whole production month falls under suspicion, when a lot-level answer would narrow it to the fans that carry that one stator lot.

End-of-line test records sit on a tester

Hipot, earth continuity and running current are logged on the bench PC, if at all. A buyer querying one failed iron sends a technician digging through old folders on the hipot tester’s PC. The file may not exist.

Kits for the line are incomplete

A line stops for want of one thermal cutout or a rating plate, though the store believed it had issued the kit that morning. The planner hears it from the supervisor. Lost shifts follow.

Warranty claims arrive without a build date

A service centre reports a mixer returned with a seized bearing, but the card carries no serial number. Nobody can tell whether the unit came from a known weak batch of jar couplers.

Dealer stock is unknown

Distributors hold unsold units across several warehouses and branch counters. The plant dispatches more of a slow induction cooktop and runs short of a fast table fan.

What the software does

What we would build for home appliance manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Model bill of materials

Hold each appliance model with its stator, regulator board, body moulding, flex, rating plate and carton, plus the alternate makes approved for each part.

Component lots and incoming inspection

Receive armatures, nichrome coils, switches and boards by supplier lot, record the sample measured from each delivery, and release only the lots that passed to the line.

Line output and kitting

Issue kits to each assembly line by shift, then record units built, rework and scrap against the work order. A bimetal thermostat shortage shows before the conveyor stops.

End-of-line test records

Store hipot, earth bond, leakage and no-load current readings against the unit’s serial number, together with the tester fixture used and the operator who ran the bench check.

Serial numbers and warranty

Give each unit a serial number at the end of the line. It links to the winding lots, the leakage test and the dealer.

Rework and rejections

Log defect codes at the rework bench, such as a cold solder joint or a cracked jar, the repair done and whether the unit passes a second test.

Dealer dispatch and spares

Dispatch by delivery note to distributors and dealers, and hold spare blades, jars and heating coils by model for service returns.

The business modules home appliance manufacturers use most.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions home appliance manufacturers ask before they call.

Can a field complaint lead us to the motor lot?

Yes, when the serial number is on the complaint. The unit record shows the stator, element and board lots that went into it, and every other unit built with the same lots can be listed in one search.

Can it read results from our end-of-line testers?

Not as standard. Readings can be keyed at the bench or imported from a file. Linking a hipot tester straight into the system is separate integration work, and the first workshop scopes it with your test engineer and the tester supplier.

Do we have to make our own housings?

No. Bought-in bodies are received as components. A plant that also runs injection presses gives the moulded part its own bill of materials and work orders.

How is the cost of this agreed?

A demo is shaped around a model you produce today. Assembly lines, model count and logins then decide the figure in the proposal.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
