Manufacturing · Software for pCB manufacturers

Follow every panel from Gerber review to electrical test on one lot record.

PCB manufacturers make bare printed circuit boards from copper laminate, through imaging, etching, lamination, drilling, plating, solder mask, finish and electrical test. The software holds the Gerber revision, stack-up, engineering queries, panel lots, yields by process step and test results against each board order. Certificates and packing lists follow from that record.

At a glance

A bare board order starts as a set of files and ends as a stack of boards in a vacuum bag. In between, a panel passes a dozen wet and dry steps, and every step has its own scrap. One late revision can sink a lot.

Management software for board fabricators ties the file revision, the stack-up and the lot together. Open an order, see every query.

How the work runs today

A buyer sends Gerber and drill files with a fabrication note: layer count, copper weight, board thickness, solder mask colour and surface finish such as HASL or ENIG. CAM reviews the data, raises engineering queries on clearances and annular rings, and fixes the panel layout. Once the buyer approves, a lot is created. Laminate is issued.

Inner layers are imaged and etched, then laminated into a multilayer. Holes are drilled, plated and the outer layers are etched. Solder mask, legend and finish follow, then routing or scoring. Every board goes through an open and short electrical test. Final inspection checks dimensions and finish, and boards are packed with a certificate of conformance. The planner chases lots all day.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for pCB manufacturers without a proper system.

The wrong Gerber revision gets imaged

The buyer resends files after CAM has started, and the film is made from the old set while the new revision waits in an inbox that the floor never opens. The error shows only on the electrical test.

Engineering queries wait in email

A clearance question to the buyer sits unanswered while the lot waits for tooling. The planner cannot tell which orders are blocked on a reply.

Yield is known only at the end

Scrap from drilling, plating and etching is counted in different departments, each with its own count sheet and its own reasons. The loss on a lot is clear only after the whole run closes.

Chemical bath changes are not tied to lots

A plating bath is adjusted or dumped, and the panels that passed through it before and after look the same on paper. A later defect has no cause to point at.

Customer certificates are typed by hand

Every shipment needs a conformance certificate and a test report quoting lot, quantity and date code. Clerks copy these from three records.

What the software does

What we would build for pCB manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Order and file revision register

Hold the buyer’s Gerber set, fabrication note and revision, so CAM and the floor never image from an outdated pack.

Engineering query tracker

Log each CAM question, send it to the buyer, record the answer and release the lot only when all queries are closed.

Stack-up and panel planning

Record layer count, laminate type, copper weight and panel size, and plan how many boards fit on each panel.

Lot travellers by process step

Take a lot past imaging, etch, lamination, drilling, plating, mask, finish and routing, noting panels in and panels out at each stop.

Yield and scrap by step

Record scrap with a reason at each step and see the yield of a lot while it is still running.

Electrical test results

Store open and short test outcomes per board and per lot, with failed board numbers and the reasons found.

Certificates and shipment

Print the certificate of conformance, test report and packing list from the lot, with date code and quantity.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions pCB manufacturers ask before they call.

Does it read Gerber files?

No. Your CAM software does that. Gerber sets hang on the order with their revision letter, so the floor knows which one is current.

Can quick-turn prototype boards share the system with volume orders?

Yes. A prototype lot can have a short traveller of a few steps, while volume lots run the full route. Both use the same order and test record.

Can we connect the flying probe tester?

Usually yes. Test results can be entered or imported as files from the tester, and how a particular machine exports is looked at during implementation.

Does it track chemical baths?

Partly. A bath change can be logged and linked to the lots that ran through it. Chemistry analysis stays with your laboratory records.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
