Manufacturing · Software for medical plastics manufacturers

Tie every moulded housing, luer connector and tube to its resin lot, mould and cavity.

Medical plastics makers mould and extrude housings, luer connectors, syringe barrels and tubing, often inside a classified cleanroom. The software records resin lot, desiccant dryer hours, mould and cavity, process settings and inspection against each lot, and it keeps customer-owned tooling apart.

At a glance

Medical plastics firms rarely sell a finished device. They make the clear polycarbonate housing, the luer lock, the barrel or the length of catheter tube that a device company assembles. Their customer asks for the record behind each lot. The same part must come every time.

Resin grade and lot, dryer dew point, mould and cavity number, shot weight, cycle time and the cleanroom where the part was bagged all count. When a lot is queried, the answer lies in every one of them at once. One missing entry leaves the device company unconvinced.

How the work runs today

A customer supplies drawings, a tool or a request to build one, and a resin specification. After tool approval, the planner books a press and a mould for each order. Operators dry the pellets in a desiccant hopper for the set hours and load the machine. Quality staff then run first articles and confirm gate vestige, critical dimensions, weight and appearance under the lamp. Only after that is the press released to run.

During the run, cavity checks and visual inspection catch flash, splay, black specks, short shots and sink marks. Parts drop into liners, are counted, then bagged and labelled with the lot in a classified room. Extruded tube is cut to length and coiled. Some parts move on to pad printing or ultrasonic welding in a second cell. Finished lots ship with a certificate of conformance naming resin and mould. Customer-owned moulds also need their shot count and maintenance noted.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for medical plastics manufacturers without a proper system.

Resin lots and drying are noted loosely

The press log names the resin grade, while the real lot number and the hours in the desiccant dryer sit on a separate clipboard sheet that wanders.

Cavity data gets lost

One cavity of a sixteen-cavity mould starts flashing, and the lot record cannot show which bagged parts came from it. The whole lot falls under doubt.

Customer tools need their own history

A mould owned by a device company has a shot count, a polishing and vent-cleaning log and a rack position. Whoever remembers them keeps them.

Cleanroom packing is hard to prove

Who bagged the lot, and in which room, is written on paper. Filed by date, it takes an afternoon to find.

Process settings drift without notice

A tweak to barrel temperature, hold pressure or injection speed is made at the press. It never returns to the validated sheet, and the next shift runs something different.

What the software does

What we would build for medical plastics manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Resin lots and dryer records

Receive resin by grade and lot, record the hours and dew point in the dryer, and issue it to a press with the lot number carried along.

Mould and tool register

Hold customer-owned and own moulds with cavity count, shot count, maintenance dates, hot runner notes and storage rack.

Press runs and process settings

Save the validated settings per mould and press, such as melt temperature, hold pressure and cycle time. A changed hold pressure or barrel temperature is logged with the operator’s name and the moment it was keyed in.

Inspection and cavity checks

Log first article, in-process shot weight and critical dimensions, split by cavity where the customer needs it.

Cleanroom packing and labels

Record line clearance, packers, counts and the label printed for each bag or carton, with the room named.

Customer lots and certificates

Issue a certificate of conformance and delivery note that name the lot, resin grade and mould.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions medical plastics manufacturers ask before they call.

Can we keep customer-owned moulds separate?

Yes. A mould carries its owner, cavities, shot count and maintenance log, and its parts are planned only against orders from that owner.

Does it record dryer hours?

Yes. Drying time and dew point are noted against the resin lot at issue, so a press run shows how long the pellets sat in the hopper before moulding.

Can we see which cavity made which parts?

Where you separate cavities at packing or sampling, the record shows them. Otherwise checks are noted per cavity and per lot, which still narrows a query.

Will it certify our process validation?

No. Validation limits for installation, operation and performance qualification are set by your own quality staff and your customer. The software stores those limits and records every deviation from them.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
