Trace a device from bar stock or resin lot to serial number, with its design and service files.

Surgical instrument, implant, diagnostic equipment, disposables, moulded plastics and hospital furniture makers build to a device specification. The software links material certificates, work orders, gauge readings, serial numbers and customer complaints on one record that quality staff, floor staff and service engineers open on different screens. Each sees only what the job needs.

At a glance

Medical device trades make very different objects. A surgical instrument maker grinds and polishes stainless steel forceps and scissors, while an orthopaedic implant shop machines titanium and cobalt chrome on turn-mill centres. A disposables line moulds syringe barrels, packs pouches and sends cartons for ethylene oxide sterilisation, and a diagnostic equipment maker builds boards and housings. A hospital furniture shop welds and upholsters bed frames. Each is traced differently.

What they share is the file behind each product. A device master record names the drawing, the alloy or resin grade and the inspection plan, and each production run adds a history record with lot numbers, operators and micrometer readings. Supplier certificates and gauge calibration complete the picture. Without that link, a hospital buyer who reports one faulty unit leaves the maker searching through folders, route cards and supplier files to learn which other units are affected.

After shipment the record keeps working. Serial numbers link a unit to its buyer, its installation and its service visits, and a complaint or a returned part is traced back to the lot. Moulders, implant shops and bed makers differ in how deep that trace goes and in what a purchase committee asks to see. Each file stays short and exact.

The trades

Software for each kind of medical Devices & Equipment business.

Surgical instrument manufacturers

Surgical instrument manufacturers forge or cut stainless steel blanks, then mill, grind, assemble, harden, polish and passivate them into forceps, scissors, needle holders and retractors. The software holds each pattern’s drawing, steel heat, process route and inspection record. Laser marks, assembled sets and private-label orders for other brands are tied to the same lot.

Orthopaedic implant manufacturers

Orthopaedic implant makers machine Ti-6Al-4V titanium, cobalt chrome and 316LVM stainless bar into plates, screws, intramedullary nails and femoral stems, then polish, passivate, mark, clean and pack them. The software holds mill certificate, heat number, machining lot, finishing and sterilisation on one traceable record per implant lot.

Medical equipment manufacturers

Medical equipment manufacturers build capital units such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, operating tables and autoclaves from machined frames, wiring looms, SpO2 boards and embedded software. The software holds each serial number’s bill of materials, IEC 60601 safety test, firmware version and installation, with service contracts, spare parts and complaints linked to the same unit.

Diagnostic equipment manufacturers

Diagnostic instrument makers assemble main boards, optics, peristaltic pumps and housings, flash firmware, calibrate and burn in each unit, then install and service it. The software keeps serial, board lots, firmware image, calibration sheet and service history on one record for every analyser, ECG unit or ultrasound console.

Learn more

Medical disposables manufacturers

Single-use medical products are made in lots, packed in sterile barrier packs and sent for outside sterilisation before release. The software keeps raw material lot, line clearance, sterilisation cycle, expiry and shipment on one lot record, so a query from a hospital buyer leads straight to its history.

Learn more

Medical plastics manufacturers

Medical plastics makers mould and extrude housings, luer connectors, syringe barrels and tubing, often inside a classified cleanroom. The software records resin lot, desiccant dryer hours, mould and cavity, process settings and inspection against each lot, and it keeps customer-owned tooling apart.

Hospital furniture manufacturers

Hospital furniture shops bend tube, weld frames, coat them, fit motors and castors, and ship to wards by the tender lot. The software ties each bed or trolley to its tube batch, coating run, actuator and test sheet. Tender quantities and delivery drops stay in one place.

What they share

Where these businesses lose time and money.

Drawings and revisions drift

The shop floor works from a printed drawing while engineering has issued revision D, so a batch of retractors is cut to revision C before anyone notices. Scrap is counted only at final inspection.

Material certificates are filed apart from the job

Mill certificates for 316L bar and titanium, resin data sheets and component certificates sit in a drawer, so proving which heat number went into which part takes a search through paper.

Inspection results are not tied to the unit

Pin-gauge readings, visual checks under a magnifier and functional tests are written on route cards and filed by date, so a failed measurement cannot be linked to a serial number. Someone opens a whole carton.

Complaints and returns have no clear path

A returned forceps or a field fault arrives by phone or email, and the corrective action, if any, never reaches the production record. The next lot repeats the same burr.

Service and installation records are thin

Installed analysers, calibration visits and spare boards are tracked in separate sheets kept by different people, and purchase committees ask for full histories that are hard to assemble.

What the software does

What we build across medical Devices & Equipment.

Control the device file

Keep drawings, bills of materials, inspection plans and revisions on one record per product, and release work orders only against the current revision. The floor never cuts to a superseded drawing.

Link materials to every part

Record the mill certificate, heat number or resin lot received, and attach it to each work order, so a finished screw or tray traces to its bar or bag.

Record inspection against the unit

Capture measurements, leak tests and sign-offs per lot or serial number, and hold a unit back from dispatch until its checks are complete.

Handle complaints as controlled cases

Log each complaint or return with the serial number, the finding and the corrective action, then link the outcome to the lots and drawings involved. Owners and due dates stay visible.

Keep an installed base

Record where each ventilator stand, bed or analyser was delivered, with warranty, service visits, spares fitted and calibration dates, so one enquiry gets one answer.

Quote and invoice from the job

Price tenders and orders from the bill of materials and routing, then invoice and dispatch from the same record, with carton labels and packing lists printed from it.

Common questions

Questions medical Devices & Equipment businesses ask.

Is there one product for all medical device makers?

No. Each of the seven trades listed here, from scalpel makers and implant shops to syringe moulders and bed welders, has a separate product built around its own routings and customers. Materials, inspection steps and buyer records differ.

Can it hold our design history and device master records?

It can hold drawings, bills of materials, inspection plans and revisions, with a log of who changed what. Overlap with a CAD vault is reviewed in implementation.

Will it certify us to a quality standard?

No. It keeps the records an auditor may ask to see, such as lot traceability, inspection results, complaints and gauge calibration. Certification to ISO 13485 remains between you and the certifying body.

Will gauges and test benches feed readings straight in?

Not on its own. A link to a digital caliper, torque tester or leak-test bench is scoped per instrument once the model and output are known. Readings can be keyed in or imported until then.
