Manufacturing · Software for solar inverter manufacturers

Link each inverter serial to its IGBT lot, firmware image and burn-in result.

An inverter maker assembles power stages, DSP control boards, heatsinks and IP65 enclosures, flashes firmware, then runs each unit through burn-in and anti-islanding tests. The solar inverter manufacturer software records MOSFET and capacitor lots, firmware images, test readings and customer returns against the unit serial number, so a field fault can be traced to its parts.

At a glance

An inverter is a small power plant in a box, sealed against dust and heavy rain and expected to run unattended on a roof for years. Electrolytic capacitors, IGBT modules, Hall-effect current sensors and the DSP board arrive from different suppliers in different lots. Parts change when a supplier revises a datasheet. A unit trips in the field after a year. Which parts did it contain?

Production software for inverter makers keeps that answer on the serial number. Board lots, firmware image, burn-in log and final test sheet attach as the unit moves down the line, so nobody rebuilds the history from emails when a distributor phones. Tell us which stations flash firmware, burn in and test, and the serial records follow that sequence.

How the work runs today

Stores issue a kit against the work order: IGBT power stage, DSP control board, aluminium heatsink, output inductors, DC-link capacitors, MC4 connectors and enclosure. An SMT line or an outside board assembler supplies the boards. Each lot is counted at the bench. Operators mount the power stage with thermal paste, crimp the wiring, torque the terminal block and close the lid.

Firmware is flashed through the JTAG header and the unit goes into a burn-in chamber under load. A final test then checks output voltage, MPPT efficiency points, ground-fault and anti-islanding trips, and RS485 or Wi-Fi communication. Pass or fail. Passing units get a rating plate and serial. Failures move to a repair bench carrying a fault code. Each shipped unit joins a warranty record holding the dispatch date and the distributor’s name, which settles any later claim.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for solar inverter manufacturers without a proper system.

Firmware images drift across a pallet

Units on one pallet carry different builds because the flashing station was updated mid-shift. Nobody can say which unit holds which. Support guesses from the label.

Component lots are not captured

Film capacitors and gate-driver chips come off open reels and trays. When a field failure points to one part, the affected serials cannot be listed.

Burn-in logs sit on a rack PC

Chamber hours, thermal trips and heatsink temperatures stay on a test rack computer. They never reach the order, so a distributor asking for proof starts a hunt.

Repair benches work from paper fault slips

A returned unit is opened, a driver board is swapped, and the slip stays in the tray. The same short circuit returns as a fresh complaint. Cost repeats.

Warranty start dates are guessed

Dispatch, installation and commissioning dates all differ, and the start depends on which one the contract names. Claims are argued from invoices instead of records.

What the software does

What we would build for solar inverter manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Board and component lot receiving

Log IGBT modules, DC-link capacitors, PCBs and enclosures by lot, with supplier and storage bin, so each serial can name its parts.

Kits and work orders

Issue a kit per work order against the inverter’s bill of materials, and keep the board assembler’s deliveries visible beside it.

Firmware and configuration record

Store firmware image, grid-code parameter file and flashing operator against each serial.

Burn-in and final test results

Save chamber hours, ground-fault trips, output readings and MPPT efficiency points per unit, with the test rack and date.

Repair and return bench

Log a returned unit with its fault code, replaced boards and retest result, and link it back to the original serial.

Warranty and installation records

Hold dispatch, installation and commissioning dates per serial, with the terms agreed in the distributor contract.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions solar inverter manufacturers ask before they call.

Can each unit store its firmware version?

Yes. The flashing step records the firmware image and grid-code parameter set against the serial, and a later update is added as a dated entry.

Does it import results from our test rack?

A file import from the rack can be built as extra work. The column layout is fixed with your test engineer in the first workshop.

Can field failures be linked to component lots?

Yes. Each unit’s serial lists capacitor, module and board lots, so a suspect lot returns the list of units that used it.

How do we move open orders across?

Open orders, stock on hand and recent burn-in results go in from your files, and finished serials are checked with your test engineer before the next batch. Old data stays readable.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
