Manufacturing · Software for snack manufacturers

Keep every fryer batch, seasoning drum and bag count on record per line.

A snack maker slices, extrudes or forms a base, fries or bakes it, seasons it, and fills it into bags and cartons. The software holds the oil and base lot, the fryer batch, the seasoning mix, the pack weight check and the dispatch against each distributor order.

At a glance

Snacks are made fast and sold on weight, crispness and taste. A fryer that runs a few degrees off or a seasoning drum that is overfed changes the product, and the bag is sealed before anyone sees it.

Line and batch records for snack makers keep the fryer, the seasoning and the bag count tied to one run. Tell us which flavours run on which lines, and each distributor order can be traced from the hopper through the drum and bagger to the carton.

How the work runs today

Potatoes, flour, maize grits or pellets come in with the oil, seasoning and film. Potatoes are washed, peeled and sliced. Doughs are mixed and extruded or sheeted. The base is fried in oil or baked, then moved over a de-oiling belt into a seasoning drum, where powder and oil are applied by weight. The fryer crew watches oil temperature, dwell time and the age of the oil, since one overdone batch can leave a pallet of scrap before anyone tastes a chip. Packing lines feed a multihead weigher into a bagger, flush the bag with nitrogen and seal it, all within a few seconds per bag. Checkweighers and metal detectors catch faults, and bags go into cartons by flavour.

Distributors and modern retail order cartons by flavour and pack size, often with promotional packs. Sales and planning must match each order with what the lines can run that week, allowing for clean-down between flavours and for the film and cartons that have to be printed. Waste is high. Yield per tonne of potato or per bag of pellets matters to the owner. With no line records, yield is estimated once a month from purchase bills, a rough stock count and whatever the shift leader remembers about the week.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for snack manufacturers without a proper system.

Fryer settings drift and nobody notices

Oil temperature and belt speed are set by hand. A shift of settings shows only as colour or crunch on the packed bag, by which time several thousand bags of that flavour have already been sealed.

Seasoning is dosed by eye

Powder is scooped into the drum by the operator, and the quantity depends on who is on shift. Flavour strength differs from run to run.

Bag weight giveaway is unmeasured

Weighers are set high to avoid short packs. The extra grams across a day are never added up, even though they add up to a great many bags of product given away.

Raw material yield is not tracked

Potatoes lost in peeling and slicing, and oil absorbed in frying, are not weighed. The true cost per bag stays unknown.

Flavour changeovers waste product

The line is cleaned between seasonings, and the time and scrap are not logged. Planners cannot sequence flavours well.

What the software does

What we would build for snack manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Raw material and oil lots

Receive potatoes, flour, grits, pellets, oil, seasoning and film by lot, with the oil change history of each fryer.

Fryer and oven batches

Record oil temperature, belt speed and fry time for each batch, and flag runs outside the set limits.

Seasoning recipes and dosing

Hold the seasoning mix for each flavour, and log powder and oil applied in the drum per run.

Pack weight and seal checks

Record checkweigher results, giveaway per bag, seal quality and metal detector checks for every fill run.

Flavour changeover log

Record the clean-down time and scrap at each flavour change, so planners can sequence runs.

Cartons and distributor dispatch

Count cartons by flavour and pack size, and raise delivery notes against distributor orders.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions snack manufacturers ask before they call.

Can it record fryer conditions for each batch?

Yes. Oil temperature, belt speed, fry time and the oil in use are logged for each batch. Readings outside your limits are flagged, so a bad run is caught before it reaches the bagger.

Does it help reduce bag giveaway?

It records the average and spread of bag weights for each run and each weigher. The figures show where a setting is too generous, but changing the machine is still done by your technicians.

Can seasoning be dosed to a recipe?

The recipe for each flavour is stored by weight, and the powder and oil used on a run are logged against it. Differences from the recipe are visible afterwards.

Will a small fryer line find this heavy going?

Only a very small one. A unit frying a single product by hand may not need it. A line with several flavours, bagging machines and distributors is a better fit.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
