Manufacturing · Software for precision component manufacturers

Follow each drawing revision, setup, inspection reading and job work challan through one batch record.

Precision component manufacturers turn, mill, grind and finish small parts to a drawing and a tolerance, often in short runs for many buyers. Drawing revisions, setup sheets, inspection readings and subcontract challans usually sit in separate files. Our manufacturing production software keeps a batch, its stages and its rejections together. The gaps around it, such as gauge calibration dates and buyer rejection registers, are added as custom work.

At a glance

You make turned, milled, ground or sheet-metal parts to a drawing, with tolerances that a gauge or a CMM decides. Runs are short, buyers are many, and the same part returns in a new revision.

The shop floor knows how to make the part. What goes missing is the record around it: which revision, which setup, which readings, which lot of bar, and which job worker held it last.

How the work runs today

An enquiry arrives with a drawing and a quantity. Someone costs the material, the machine hours and any outside process, a quotation goes back, and a purchase order follows with a delivery date for each lot.

A planner prints the router, the store issues bar or sheet, and the operator proves the first piece before the run starts. The inspector records readings at set intervals, and parts that fail go to rework or scrap.

Plating, heat treatment or anodising goes to a job worker on a challan. Finished lots are inspected, packed with a report where the buyer wants one, and sent with the invoice. A buyer’s rejection comes back later.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for precision component manufacturers without a proper system.

An old revision gets machined

A buyer revises a drawing by email, and the router at the machine still shows the earlier one. The lot is scrapped.

Inspection readings stay on paper

Readings sit on sheets in a drawer at the inspection table, and a buyer’s query a month later means digging. Finding one is slow.

Rejection is counted but not explained

Scrap is totalled at month end without the stage or the cause. The same defect keeps coming back.

Job work goes out and is not chased

Parts sent for plating or heat treatment are noted in a book, and returns are not set against what left. Shortfalls show up late.

Tool and gauge records sit apart

Insert changes and gauge calibration dates live with the operator or the quality head. Nothing warns before a date lapses.

What the software does

What we would build for precision component manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Enquiries, drawings and revisions

Log each enquiry with its drawing, keep every revision against the part, and make sure the order, the work order and the router all name the revision that was agreed.

Routers, work orders and job cards

Set the stage sequence and the machine for each part, release a work order for a lot, and record quantity passed, rejected and held at each stage, with operator and shift.

Bar, sheet and consumable stock

Count bar, sheet, castings and consumables by grade and size, with every issue tied to a work order. A tool and insert list is added as custom work.

Inspection readings and rejection

Save first-piece and in-process readings against the lot, hold a batch until it is cleared, and count rejection and rework by stage and reason. Gauge calibration dates are a separate addition, built with your quality head.

Job work challans

Send material to a job worker for plating, heat treatment or anodising on a challan, and reconcile what came back against what went. Any shortfall stays on view until it is cleared.

Dispatch, invoices and buyer rejections

Pack accepted pieces and raise the delivery challan and the GST invoice. A register linking each buyer rejection to the lot that was shipped is built as custom work.

Machine load and the week’s plan

See the load queued on each machine and stage, and move target dates by hand. There is no automatic scheduler.

Solutions inside

The business modules precision component manufacturers use most.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions precision component manufacturers ask before they call.

Can machines send their counts to the system directly?

Not on its own. Operators mark the job card on a phone or a tablet. Reading a controller directly depends on the machine make, and it is quoted as separate work after we look at the machine.

Does it produce first article reports in a buyer’s format?

Not as a ready module. Readings and check results are saved against each lot. A report in the layout a buyer expects is custom work, agreed once you share a sample.

Will it work out the actual cost of a finished batch?

No. Costing sits at the quotation stage, where material, machine time and job work are priced. Material consumed, rejection and job work for each batch stay on record for your accountant.

Can the figures reach Tally?

Nothing posts into Tally by itself. Your accountant can read the figures inside GullySystem, and a file for the books is quoted separately once the ledger heads are fixed.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
