Labour and Piece Rate Records in Manufacturing
Shift attendance and job card output are kept in one place for operators and contract labour. Piece-rate counts come from cards already marked on the floor.
Who is on record
Shifts and attendance
Shift timings are set once for the unit and attendance is marked against them. A biometric or card device at the gate can feed the entry where you have one, and a supervisor list works where you do not. Overtime hours are entered against the shift. Leave and absence are marked, so the planner knows a machine may stand idle the next day. A stage with nobody on it shows before a batch is promised.
Counting piece-rate work
What this module does not do
- It does not calculate wages, deductions or statutory contributions
- It does not file any return or challan for labour
- It does not decide a piece rate for any stage
- How these figures reach your payroll is a matter for the client and the accountant
Frequently asked questions
Can a biometric device at the gate feed attendance?
It can, where the make and model allow a feed. The device is checked during scoping and the link is quoted separately.
Are contract workers counted the same way?
Their shifts and output are recorded, but they sit under the contractor so his bill can be checked against them.
Does it handle wage payment?
No. It supplies shift and output figures only. The wage working stays with your payroll clerk or your accountant.
Can one worker earn piece rate on several parts?
Yes. Every card the worker is named on contributes its own stage rate, and the period total adds them up.
