Manufacturing · Software for cNC bending shops

Keep the bend sequence, tooling set and angle check with each part.

A CNC bending shop forms flat blanks into channels, boxes and brackets on press brakes, and every part depends on the right punch, die and sequence. The software for CNC bending shops stores the bend programme, tooling set, back-gauge data and angle readings against each part revision. Blanks arrive from the cutting shop, and formed parts go on to welding or coating.

At a glance

Press brakes turn flat blanks into formed parts with angles held to a degree or less. The same part can be bent in a different order by a different operator. The result will not match.

A CNC bending shop therefore keeps its knowledge in programmes and tooling sets. Records should capture the sequence that worked, the tools it used and the angle that came out.

How the work runs today

A fabricator or equipment maker sends laser-cut blanks, or a drawing and a request to buy the blanks for them. You quote by the number of bends, the length of each bend, the part’s weight and the setups needed on the press brake. Long parts and tight inside radii carry a premium.

Before the run, the operator picks punch and die from the tooling rack, builds the set on the machine and loads the bend programme. The first part is bent and measured with an angle gauge, and the correction is entered on the controller. Springback shifts with grade and rolling direction. The lot is then bent, stacked and moved on to welding, tapping or packing.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for cNC bending shops without a proper system.

Good programmes stay on the controller

The bend order and angle correction that finally worked are saved on one press brake. A repeat order on the second machine starts with trial pieces and scrap. Hours go.

Tooling is hard to find and harder to account for

A gooseneck punch or a special hem die is somewhere in the rack, or on another machine, or sent for regrinding. The setup waits while someone looks.

Springback changes with every sheet lot

Two lots of the same grade bend differently, and nobody wrote down which angle correction belonged to which heat. The first-off takes longer each time.

Blanks arrive without a bend-ready check

A laser shop delivers blanks with the wrong grain direction or an unmarked burr side. The bend cracks on the outside radius and the lot is stopped.

Angle checks are not kept

Samples are measured, thrown into a bin and forgotten. When a customer reports an open box, nothing shows what was measured. The argument starts there.

What the software does

What we would build for cNC bending shops.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Quotation by bends and setups

Price a part by bend count, bend length, tooling change and weight. Keep every revision linked to the drawing.

Bend programme library

Store the sequence, back-gauge positions, angle corrections and press brake used, against each part revision.

Tooling register

List punches and dies by profile, length and location, with wear and regrind history, so a setup knows what is available.

Incoming blank check

Receive blanks from the cutting shop with grade, thickness, grain direction and burr side noted. Do it before the first bend.

Machine queue and setup plan

Group jobs by tooling set on each press brake to reduce changes, and see which job is next on each machine.

Angle and dimension record

Enter first-off and sample readings by bend, and attach the sign-off to the lot before it moves on.

Downstream routing and dispatch

Send formed parts to welding, tapping, coating or packing, and print a delivery note from the count that passed.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions cNC bending shops ask before they call.

Can it keep angle corrections for each sheet lot?

Yes. The correction that worked is stored with the material lot and the machine, so the next first-off starts from a known value rather than a guess made at the machine.

Does it connect to the press brake?

Not by default. Programmes are catalogued against the part, and files can be attached. Sending them to a controller depends on your machine make and is scoped separately.

Can we track tooling that goes for regrinding?

Yes. A punch or die can be marked out for regrinding with the vendor and return date, and the setup plan shows it as unavailable until it is back.

We only bend parts that other shops cut. Is that supported?

Yes. Blanks are received from the cutting shop against its delivery note, checked and booked in, then bent and returned or passed on.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
