Link resin lot, mould, shot and paint line to every bumper and trim part shipped.

Automotive plastics shops mould bumper fascias, door trims, instrument panels, clips and lamp housings in polypropylene, ABS and glass-filled nylon for vehicle makers. Some parts are then painted, welded and assembled. The software ties resin lots, dryer hours, cavity use, press settings, booth defects and rack sequence to each part. A fitment complaint leads back to one shot and one tool.

At a glance

A bumper fascia begins as dried polypropylene pellets with talc, melts in a press barrel, packs into a steel mould through a hot runner and cools. Painting, flame treatment, vibration welding, heat staking of clips and a check on the gauging fixture follow before the rack is wrapped. Every step can add its own defect.

Settings and lot stay with every part. If a door trim warps or a snap-fit tab cracks, the mould, the press, the resin lot and the paint batch sit one click apart. Without that link, a quality engineer opens press logs, booth sheets and rack lists one by one, hoping the dates agree before the eight-discipline corrective action report is due.

How the work runs today

Orders arrive as weekly releases and often as a sequenced call-off. Parts must reach the vehicle line in build order, so racks are packed back to front and counted twice at the dock. Planners match presses to moulds by clamp tonnage, load resin and masterbatch, and plan colour changes around purge time and the regrind ratio. Dew point on the desiccant dryer is checked before a lot is charged into a hopper. Colour changes eat press time.

Operators log cycle time, shot weight and rejects for flash, sink marks, short shots and silver streaks. Moulds carry a shot count and go to the tool room for cleaning, vent polishing or ejector pin repair on schedule. A mould back from the tool room runs a trial shot first, and the first good parts are kept as the reference sample for the shift. Painted parts move to the booth, then to assembly benches for clips, grommets and foam seals. Gauges and checking fixtures decide what ships. Nothing leaves unmeasured.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for automotive plastics manufacturers without a proper system.

Resin lots and drying times are not recorded

Pellets arrive in bags or silo loads under a lot number. Whether a hopper dried for the hours the resin supplier asks is told by memory, and the quality team has nothing to check when splay shows up. The record is empty.

Mould shot counts drift from maintenance

Tool room staff track cleaning and repair on a wall chart. A mould runs past its service point before anyone notices flash on the parting line, and by then a full shift of parts is suspect. Scrap follows.

Press settings differ shift to shift

Melt temperature, holding pressure, back pressure and cooling time are adjusted at the control panel by whoever is on shift. The setting behind a good shot is not saved for the next run. The next setter starts by guessing.

Paint defects are separated from moulding

Orange peel, runs, dirt in the film and poor adhesion are logged at the booth. Nobody links them to the moulded batch, so the paint shop takes the blame when the cause was mould release residue on the substrate.

Sequenced deliveries are built by hand

Parts for a line must arrive in vehicle order. The sequence is assembled on a spreadsheet from the customer’s call-off, and a swapped rack shows up at the customer’s dock, not in your plant.

What the software does

What we would build for automotive plastics manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Resin, masterbatch and dryer records

Book resin lots at the gate, log dryer start and end before each hopper charge, and keep masterbatch and regrind lots beside the parts they coloured.

Mould and cavity management

Hold each mould with its cavity count, shot counter, cleaning schedule and repair history. A tool due for polishing, venting or ejector work is flagged for the tool room.

Press settings and cycle records

Save the melt temperature, holding pressure and cycle time of an approved run for each mould and press. Shot weight and rejected parts are logged against the same run.

Paint and assembly stages

Follow parts through booth, vibration or hot plate welding and clip fitting, with defects noted by type, such as orange peel or a weld line, and tied back to the moulded batch.

Fixture and gauge checks

Record results from checking fixtures, height gauges and the coordinate measuring machine per lot, with limits set by your quality staff, and hold lots outside them.

Sequenced and call-off dispatch

Build the customer’s sequence list, pack in rack order, and print labels and the packing list with lot numbers, so the dock sees the same order the vehicle line does.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions automotive plastics manufacturers ask before they call.

Can it record dryer hours per hopper?

Yes. Dryer start and end are logged against each resin lot, and a press order cannot begin until the drying step has been entered by the setter.

Does it track tool maintenance by shot count?

Yes. Each mould keeps a shot counter that rises with the production entries. The tool room list shows moulds nearing the cleaning, polishing or repair point set for that tool.

Can painted parts be traced to the moulding lot?

Yes. Every painted lot points at the moulded batch under it. A booth complaint is checked against the press, the mould and the resin lot behind the substrate, not against the paint alone.

How are sequenced deliveries handled?

The customer’s sequence is loaded and racks are packed to match. Labels follow the order of the vehicles and print from the same list, so the dock check and the packing list agree.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
