Manufacturing · Software for sheet metal fabricators

Carry each enclosure from flat pattern to powder-coated pallet on one record.

Sheet metal fabricators cut flat blanks on fibre lasers and turret punches, fold them on press brakes, weld the seams and send frames to powder coat. The software for sheet metal fabricators ties the DXF flat pattern, the nest report, the bend programme and each weld step to one job. Mill certificates and coater delivery notes stay beside the parts they covered.

At a glance

Coils and sheets arrive on pallets, then pass through a laser, a deburring machine, a press brake, a weld bay and a grinding booth before the powder line. One switchgear cabinet can touch six work centres. Each touch needs a record.

So the record follows the nested sheet and the individual part, not only the sales order. Which heat number was a door cut from? Which bend programme ran on the brake? Did the frames return from the coater in RAL 7035? Tell us how your cabinets move from DXF import to packing list, and the record gets built to follow that route.

How the work runs today

A buyer emails a STEP model and a PDF drawing for a meter box, a busbar cover or a rack-mount chassis, and asks for fifty. You price from flat blank area, gauge, grade (CR4 mild steel, 304 stainless, 5052 aluminium), laser cut length, bend count, weld metres, powder coat area and carton size. Hinges, PEM studs, gaskets and cam locks are bought in and join the bill of materials.

The programmer nests parts on 2500 by 1250 mm sheets and releases the cut file. Slag and burrs come off at the deburring machine. The press brake operator then loads a bend sequence and selects punch and die. Welders tack and seam the box, grinders blend the corners, and frames travel to the powder line or the zinc plating vendor. On return, the fitter hangs hinges and fixes labels, the inspector checks diagonals and hole pitch with a vernier and a go gauge, and the cabinet is crated for the customer’s dock.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for sheet metal fabricators without a proper system.

Nesting leaves usable offcuts untracked

Skeleton sheets and drop-offs lean against the wall with no note of grade, gauge or size. A new job opens a fresh 3 mm sheet while a matching drop-off rusts in the corner.

The wrong revision gets bent

The laser cut revision B, yet the brake operator holds a revision A bend drawing. Flange heights are off, the slots miss the mating panel and the lot becomes scrap.

Bought-in hardware does not arrive with the frames

Cam locks, piano hinges, cable glands and door gaskets are ordered by hand. The cabinet is welded and painted, then waits for a gasket that never reached the purchase list.

Coating jobs are tracked by phone calls

Frames leave on a truck for the powder line and come back when the coater decides. Dispatch is promised before the cure oven has finished. Nobody can check.

Quotes miss the secondary work

Tapping, countersinking, riveting PEM studs and applying rating labels never reach the estimate. The shop does them anyway, and the margin vanishes without a line that explains it.

What the software does

What we would build for sheet metal fabricators.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Quotation from the flat pattern

Price from the flat pattern: blank area, gauge, grade, cut length, bend count, weld metres and coating area, plus hinges and fasteners pulled from the bill of materials.

Sheet and remnant stock

Hold sheets by grade, gauge, size and heat number, and enter each drop-off with its dimensions so the nest draws a remnant before a full sheet is opened.

Work centre routing

Route every part through laser or turret punch, deburring, press brake, weld bay, grinding and finishing. The board shows which cabinet sits at which work centre.

Drawing and bend programme control

Lock the DXF, the brake programme and the PDF drawing to one revision. Operators open the current set, and superseded prints cannot be opened at the machine.

Bill of materials with hardware

List sheet parts, PEM studs, hinges, locks and gaskets per assembly, so purchasing orders the loose items in the same run as the sheet.

Outside coating tracking

Send frames to the powder coater or plater on a delivery note. See which are out, in which RAL shade, and the date each is due back.

Assembly, inspection and packing list

Log the fit-up, the diagonal and hole pitch checks against the drawing, and the crating. The packing list prints from what passed inspection.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions sheet metal fabricators ask before they call.

Can it manage bought-in hardware with the sheet parts?

Yes. Hinges, cam locks, glands and gaskets sit on the assembly’s bill of materials. Purchasing sees the whole list, so a cabinet is never finished with a gasket still on order.

Do we need nesting software integration?

Not to start. Each job holds the nest report exported from your nesting package, with the sheet used and the parts cut. Linking straight to the nesting vendor is discussed once the first jobs are running.

Can offcuts be reused in later jobs?

Yes. Each drop-off is entered with grade, gauge, size and heat number, then appears as stock. A planner picks it before opening a new full sheet for a small bracket job.

We make panels for one large customer only. Is that enough to justify it?

Often yes, because one customer still issues drawing revisions, call-off schedules and rejected lots. Keeping them tied to the part saves arguments, whether you serve one buyer or fifty.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
