Manufacturing · Software for pipe fitting manufacturers

Keep each elbow, tee and reducer tied to its pipe heat and inspection.

Pipe fittings are formed from pipe, plate or forgings and must match a size, schedule and material on every lot. The pipe fitting manufacturer software follows raw pipe heats, forming, heat treatment, bevelling, marking, pressure and dimensional checks, and test certificates by lot. Orders and shipment lists stay in the same record.

At a glance

Fitting makers cut pipe, push or press it into elbows, tees and reducers, or machine forged blanks into threaded and socket weld pieces for plant piping, fire lines and process skids. Then comes heat treatment, bevelling, pickling and marking. A fitting has little to look at, so the paper that travels with it carries the proof. The paper must be right. Buyers check it.

Production control for fitting plants keeps the raw pipe heat, the forming run, the heat treatment load and the inspection result under one lot number. The record is built as the work happens. Size, schedule and material grade are held on each order. Nothing is retyped.

How the work runs today

A pipeline contractor or distributor orders elbows, tees, caps and reducers by nominal size, wall schedule, material grade and end type. You quote from pipe weight, forming cost, treatment and testing. Pipe or plate arrives with a heat number and a mill certificate. It is cut, hot or cold formed, and trimmed to length. Sizes change daily, sometimes three times in one shift, as the press crew moves from one die set to the next for a different schedule and wall. Every cut piece is counted.

Formed pieces go through solution annealing or normalising where the grade requires it, then are pickled, bevelled and ground. Dimensions and wall thickness are checked on a sample from each lot. Positive material identification and hydrostatic tests are done where the customer specifies them, and the operator notes the result on a sheet that is later copied into the certificate. Heat number, size and grade are marked on each fitting. Stamps are checked. Cartons or crates go out with one certificate per heat, and the loading list is matched to the order before the truck moves.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for pipe fitting manufacturers without a proper system.

Heat numbers fade through forming

Heat marks do not last. Marking on raw pipe is cut off or burned during forming, so the pipe becomes anonymous. After bevelling and pickling, a carton of elbows cannot prove which pipe heat, mill or order it came from when the buyer asks.

Wall thinning is not recorded

Bends thin on the outer arc during forming. Thickness readings are taken on a sample at the inspection table, yet they are rarely filed against the lot that the carton will later carry. Gaps appear. Audits notice. Questions follow.

Heat treatment loads are mixed

Fittings of different grades go into one furnace in a day. The load sheet does not list which lots were in it, so when a buyer asks for proof of treatment on one carton, the answer is a guess. The furnace log stays silent.

Certificates are built by hand

Each heat needs its chemistry, mechanical results and treatment on one sheet. Mistakes are costly. Staff paste values from a mill report, a lab printout and a furnace log, and a digit slips somewhere between the three. Auditors find the slip first.

Marks do not match the carton

Size, schedule and grade are stamped by the operator. A wrong mark on a lot is found when the buyer opens the carton. Returns follow. The whole lot comes back.

What the software does

What we would build for pipe fitting manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Fitting type and size list

Hold each fitting by type, nominal size, schedule, material grade and end type, with the forming and bevel details for it.

Pipe and plate heats

Receive raw pipe, plate and forged blanks with heat number and mill certificate, and link each heat to the lots made from it.

Forming and machining runs

Record forming and trimming runs with die, press and operator, and count fittings produced against the lot.

Heat treatment loads

List the lots in each furnace load with temperature and time, and attach the results on return or completion.

Dimension and thickness checks

Save wall thickness, angle, centre-to-end and diameter readings per sample, and hold lots outside limits.

Marking and certificates

Print the mark data and the heat certificate per lot from stored chemistry and test results.

Quotations and despatch

Price from pipe weight and processing hours, and ship lots in cartons with packing lists.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions pipe fitting manufacturers ask before they call.

Can I link a finished lot to its source pipe heat?

Yes, the lot is built from one or more heats booked at receipt. A buyer’s query opens the mill certificate for each heat used.

Does it record wall thickness checks?

Readings from sampled fittings are saved to the lot. A reading outside the schedule limit holds the lot for sorting or scrap.

Can certificates be printed per heat?

Yes, certificates print per heat. The figures are read from saved results, and your inspectors approve the sheet layout, so nobody keys it a second time.

Is it for forged threaded fittings too?

Forged, threaded and socket weld pieces are set up as their own fitting types, with machining routes that differ from pressed elbows. Details are scoped at the first workshop with your production staff and quality team.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
