Manufacturing · Software for structural steel fabricators

Follow every beam, column and bolt from detail drawing to erected frame.

A structural steel fabricator turns detail drawings into marked members that must arrive in erection order. The software holds the piece mark list, the heat numbers on the section, the cutting and welding stages and the loading plan. A revised drawing reaches the shop at once. Members reach the crane in sequence.

At a glance

A fabricator makes columns, rafters, purlins, trusses and platforms to a set of detail drawings. Every piece carries a mark. Marks are small. Mistakes are not. Every mark belongs to a drawing revision, a heat of steel and a place in the erection sequence.

When those facts sit in spreadsheets and drawing folders, the shop fabricates from an old revision or ships the wrong bay first. Software for structural steel fabricators keeps the piece list, the material and the dispatch plan in one record.

How the work runs today

The package starts with general arrangement and detail drawings, issued in revisions as the engineer and the client change their minds. The detailer produces a bill of material by section and plate. The buyer orders beams, channels, angles and plate against it, and the mill certificate arrives with each heat. Plate and sections are cut, drilled and punched on beam lines and burning tables, then fitted up against a template, tack welded, checked for squareness and welded by the crew. Larger members are blasted and primed.

Bolts, washers, cleats and base plates travel as loose items with their own lists. Trucks are loaded in erection order, so the first column bay goes first. The engineer at the site counts what arrives, and writes down every shortage, every dent and every piece that came without its tag. Shortages, damage in transit and late revisions all end in phone calls. Billing follows the tonnage fabricated and delivered. Weights must be right.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for structural steel fabricators without a proper system.

The shop fabricates from a superseded drawing

A revision is emailed on Tuesday and the cutting list was printed on Monday. The member is made to the old detail and found wrong at site.

Heat numbers are lost between mill and member

A mill certificate covers a heat of steel, and the piece is cut from stock that has been mixed on the rack. The client’s inspector asks for the certificate for one beam and gets a folder.

Dispatch ignores erection order

Members are loaded as they finish, not as the crane needs them. Columns for bay four sit idle at the site while bay one waits for a rafter.

Cleats and bolt sets go missing

Base plates, cleats, bolt sets and stiffeners are counted by hand. A shortage shows at site, where a delay costs the most.

Tonnage billing does not match the shop

Fabricated weight, delivered weight and billed weight come from three different counts. The client questions each stage bill.

What the software does

What we would build for structural steel fabricators.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Drawing and revision control

Hold each package’s drawings by revision and show the shop only the current one. A new revision flags every piece mark it changes.

Piece mark list and bill of material

Break a package into marked members with section, length, weight and quantity, and total the steel needed by grade and size.

Heat number traceability

Record the mill certificate for each heat, assign cut pieces to a heat, and show which certificate belongs to which beam or plate.

Cutting, fit up and welding stages

Move each mark through cutting, drilling, fit up, welding, blasting and priming, with the person and date at every stage.

Erection sequence and loading plan

Order the dispatch by bay and lift sequence, load trucks to that plan and record what left against what the site expects.

Loose items and bolt sets

List base plates, cleats, stiffeners and bolt sets per connection, count them out at the gate and compare with the site’s receipt.

Tonnage billing

Raise stage bills on fabricated and delivered weight taken from the piece list, with the weight sheet behind each invoice.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions structural steel fabricators ask before they call.

Does it read drawings from a detailing package?

Piece lists can be loaded from the export your detailer provides, in a layout agreed during setup. The software does not draw or detail. It manages what the detailer issues.

Can we prove which heat a member was cut from?

Yes, when cut pieces are assigned to a heat at the saw or the plate burner. The mill certificate then opens from the beam’s own record.

Is dispatch planned by erection bay?

Yes. Members carry a bay and lift number, and the loading plan follows it. The site’s receipt is compared with what the gate recorded as loaded.

We buy detailing and erection from others. Does that matter?

No. Outside detailers and erectors are held as vendors on the package, so their drawings, schedules and invoices stay tied to the job.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
