Manufacturing · Software for investment casting companies

Follow every wax tree from die and shell coats to the cut-off casting.

Lost wax casting passes through a dozen small stages, and a part can be lost at any of them. The investment casting software tracks wax dies, patterns, trees, shell build, dewax, pour and finishing against the customer’s order. Inspection results stay with the part number.

At a glance

An investment casting begins as wax. It is injected in a die, joined to a runner into a tree, dipped in slurry and stucco several times, dried, dewaxed and fired. Metal is poured into the hot shell, and the shell is knocked off the casting.

Software for investment casting companies keeps a record at each of those steps. It counts wax shot, trees built, shell coats applied and castings cut off, so yield is read from the floor. Share your requirements first.

How the work runs today

The wax room injects patterns into aluminium dies, trims and inspects them, and assembles them onto a central sprue. The shell room dips each tree into ceramic slurry, coats it with stucco and lets it dry between coats, with humidity and drying time watched closely. Trees then go to the autoclave for dewax and to the furnace for firing.

In the foundry, a melt of stainless, carbon or cobalt alloy is poured into shells held hot. After knockout, parts are cut from the tree, ground, blasted and sent to heat treatment. Quality staff check dimensions, run penetrant or X-ray inspection and pack the lot. Customers ask for the drawing revision, the heat and the report each time. Every lot.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for investment casting companies without a proper system.

Wax dies are hard to account for

Dies are made for each part and sit on racks between orders, often for months, while the people who knew their history move on to other jobs. Their shot count, repairs and cavity wear are known to one person. Or to nobody.

Shell coats are logged on paper

The count of dips, the stucco grade and the drying time per coat decide whether a shell survives the pour. A missed coat shows up as a leak.

Yield is a guess

Trees are built, poured and cut off, but parts lost to wax defects, shell cracks and inclusions are counted at different desks. Nobody can say the true yield per part number.

Heats and trees do not meet

The melt log names a heat. The shell room names a tree. Linking the two for a certificate takes a search through both books, a slow job that is easy to get wrong when a lot is waiting at the dock.

Rework hides in finishing

Grinding, weld repair and straightening happen on the finishing bench with no per-part record. The true hours behind a small casting, with its straightening passes and second blast, never reach the next quote.

What the software does

What we would build for investment casting companies.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Wax die and pattern register

Keep each die with its part number, cavity count, shot count and repair history, so wear is known before a pattern goes wrong.

Tree assembly and wax stock

Record patterns injected, trimmed and assembled onto trees, with the number of parts per tree and wax rejects.

Shell build log

Log each tree through its slurry and stucco coats, drying hours and room conditions, and flag a tree that skipped a step.

Dewax, firing and pour

Plan autoclave and furnace loads, record the melt and heat number, and link each poured tree to the alloy used.

Cut-off, finishing and heat treatment

Follow parts from knockout and cut-off through grinding, blasting and treatment, with rework hours kept per part.

Inspection and certificates

Hold dimensional, penetrant and X-ray results beside the heat, and prepare the report for each lot.

Yield and costing by part number

Compare wax injected, trees poured and good castings shipped, so yield and cost are read for every part number.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions investment casting companies ask before they call.

Does it handle a wax tree with different parts on it?

Yes. A tree can carry several part numbers for different orders, and each good casting is credited to its own order after cut-off.

Can shell build rules be set per part?

They can. Your process staff set the number of coats and drying times for each part family, and the shell log flags departures.

How do we record a rework loop?

Grinding, weld repair and straightening are logged against the part with hours and operator, so the repeat cost is visible beside the order.

Is it only for large foundries?

No. A small shop with one wax room and one furnace can use the die register, shell log and inspection records, and leave out the rest.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
