Manufacturing · Software for household plastics manufacturers

Count shot weight, colour changes and regrind for every bucket, mug and storage box.

A household plastics plant moulds buckets, tubs, jugs, mugs, stools, crates and storage boxes in many colours for wholesalers and retail chains. The household plastics manufacturing software holds the mould list, the resin and masterbatch lots, shot weights, colour changeovers, regrind use, packing and dealer dispatch. A heavy product, or an off shade, is found at the machine instead of at the shop.

At a glance

Household plastics are sold on weight, shine and colour range. A bucket that runs a few grams light looks the same on the shelf, but a shop owner who weighs it by hand in the back of the store will not reorder. The saving went to the resin and nobody measured it.

Household plastics manufacturing software connects the mould, the resin lot, the colour and the shot weight on every run. The moulding floor, the resin store, the tool room and the packing section all read one job record, so the question of which mould made a batch has one answer. Take one bucket. Trace it from granule to nested stack.

How the work runs today

Resin arrives as polypropylene, HDPE or LDPE granules in bags or silos. Masterbatch is added in a measured ratio to give each colour. Regrind from sprues and rejects is blended back at a set share, which the supervisor decides by experience and by the look of the first piece. A mould sits on an injection machine, or a blow moulding line for jugs and bottles. The setter fits the mould, sets temperatures and cycle time, and runs first-off pieces until weight and finish are accepted by the supervisor on duty. Then the run starts.

Production runs through the shift, with shot weight sampled and rejects set aside for regrinding. Colour changes are frequent, sometimes six in a shift on one machine. Purging between them wastes resin. Products are trimmed, sometimes printed or hot stamped with a brand, and nested or packed into bags and cartons by a crew that counts by eye. Wholesalers and retail chains order by colour and size, and dispatches go out on delivery notes, often split across several vehicles and many towns in a single week. Orders repeat.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for household plastics manufacturers without a proper system.

Shot weight drifts on long runs

A mould that gave a set weight at the start of the shift gives a few grams less by evening. The product is cheaper to make and weaker to use, and the shortfall hides inside a normal shift’s output. Nobody notices until a buyer weighs it.

Colour changes burn resin and hours

Purging between a blue and a white run wastes granules and machine time. The cost is spread across the month and never attributed to the order sequence that caused it, so the same expensive colour pairs are scheduled back to back again next week.

Regrind share is set by habit

Operators blend sprues and rejects back at whatever ratio feels right. Strength and finish vary between shifts. Nobody notes the blend, so when a bucket comes back cracked there is no ratio to look up.

Mould history sits in people’s heads

A mould returns from repair with no note on what was welded. Cavities run blocked for days before anyone reports short shots, and by then the shift has made a pallet of them.

Mixed colours reach the wrong carton

Cartons of the same size look alike. A pallet of mugs leaves in the wrong shade because the stack label was never checked against the order.

What the software does

What we would build for household plastics manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Mould and cavity register

List every mould with its cavities, product, machine range and shot count, with repairs and blocked cavities noted against it.

Resin and masterbatch lots

Receive resin and masterbatch by lot and colour, issue them to the machine, and record the regrind share used.

Moulding job records

Capture shots, good pieces, shot weight samples, rejects and cycle time for each mould job, by machine and shift.

Colour changeovers

Plan the colour order of runs, and record purge resin and minutes lost on each change.

Regrind and scrap

Weigh sprues, runners and rejects, regrind them, and report the share returned to the next run.

Printing and packing

Record hot stamping or printing, nesting and carton counts, with a carton label for size and colour.

Dealer orders and dispatch

Hold orders by size and colour for wholesalers and chains, and dispatch against them with delivery notes.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

Common questions

Questions household plastics manufacturers ask before they call.

Can we set a target shot weight for each mould?

Yes. The target and the allowed band are held on the mould record. Samples taken at the machine are compared with them, and results outside the band raise a flag.

Does it handle blow moulded jugs as well as injection moulded items?

Yes. The machine type is a field on the mould or die record. Blow lines record parison weight and bottles, injection lines record shots and cavities.

How is regrind share recorded?

The operator enters the share blended into each run. The weight of sprues and rejects reground is tracked against the job, and a report shows both.

What does this cost a plastics factory?

No price is published. A demo is built on your own mould list, and the proposal depends on the machine count and users.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
