Manufacturing · Software for nutraceutical manufacturers

Link each supplement lot to its extract certificates, label claim and test results.

Nutraceutical manufacturers blend, granulate, encapsulate, press and fill supplements for their own brands and for private-label customers. The software ties each finished lot to botanical and vitamin ingredient lots, potency and contaminant results, and the label copy used. The record also carries allergen changeovers, best-before dates and the sign-off each brand owner gave.

At a glance

A supplement bottle carries a promise printed on its label. The plant has to show that every ingredient arrived with a certificate, that potency was tested and that contaminants were within limits. The claim on the label must match the formula actually used. A botanical extract can vary from one lot to the next, so the same recipe needs a different weight each time. That is easy to forget.

Management software for nutraceutical plants holds the formula, the ingredient lots and the label version together for every batch. Each bottle traces back to its certificates.

How the work runs today

A brand owner sends a formula, a label draft and a target quantity for a capsule, tablet, powder or gummy. Your team checks the formula, sources ingredients and agrees a specification with the brand owner, including the claim per serving, the allergens present and the shelf life promised on the pack. Extracts, vitamins, minerals and excipients arrive with certificates of analysis. Samples go to the laboratory for identity, potency, heavy metals and microbial counts before stores release the lot.

Dispensing weights are adjusted for the assay of each extract lot. Blending, granulation, encapsulation, compression or filling follows, with in-process checks on fill weight and hardness. Bottles are filled, induction sealed, labelled with lot and best-before date, and packed in cartons. Allergen changeovers need a clean-down record. Without it, nothing moves. A customer may ask for the full batch file a year later. By then the operators, extract lots and laboratory reports are scattered across three systems and two filing cabinets.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for nutraceutical manufacturers without a proper system.

Potency varies but the formula does not

A botanical extract assays at a different strength each lot. The recipe sheet still says one weight, so the finished capsule drifts from its label claim. Nobody notices until a test fails. Sometimes nobody notices at all.

Certificates sit in a drawer

Supplier analysis for each ingredient lot is filed by date. When a brand owner asks for heavy metal results on a lot, someone searches boxes. Sometimes the certificate is missing. That is worse.

Private-label formulas overlap

Several brands ask for similar blends with small changes. Formula versions are copied between spreadsheets. An old copy gets used for a new customer’s order, and the label claim no longer matches the powder in the drum.

Allergen changeover is tracked on paper

A line that ran a soy-containing blend is cleaned before a free-from product. The clean-down sheet is on a clipboard. The next batch starts before anyone checks it. Trace allergens can follow.

Label copy and lot code are matched by eye

The label version, the lot code and the best-before date are checked by an operator at the labelling table. A wrong date is found by the retailer, not the plant. Returns follow, and the whole pallet is questioned.

What the software does

What we would build for nutraceutical manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Formulas and brand owners

Hold each formula with its version, label claim and the brand owner it belongs to, so a private-label customer sees only its own products. Another brand’s base blend stays hidden.

Ingredient lots and certificates

Receive extracts, vitamins and excipients by lot with the certificate attached and the assay figure recorded, then show expiry and quarantine status on the shelf list. Quarantined lots cannot be dispensed.

Assay-adjusted dispensing

Calculate the weight of each botanical extract from its lot assay, so the dispensed amount delivers the label claim, and print the figure on the dispensing sheet straight from the lot record. No hand sums.

Batch records

Record blending, granulation, encapsulation, compression and filling steps with weights, operators and equipment. In-process fill weight and hardness checks are entered as the batch runs.

Laboratory results

Capture identity, potency, heavy metals and microbial results against the product specification. A failing result holds the lot.

Allergen and clean-down control

Mark the allergens in each formula, require a signed clean-down between incompatible products and block a batch whose line is not cleared.

Labels, lots and best-before dates

Print lot codes and dates from the batch record, and match them to the approved label version. Retailer and brand-owner label approvals are stored with the product, so the printed bottle follows the last version anyone signed.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions nutraceutical manufacturers ask before they call.

Can the dispensing weight follow the assay of each extract lot?

Yes. The lot record holds the assay figure, and the dispensing sheet calculates the weight needed to reach the label claim, using calculation rules that are agreed with your formulation staff before go-live.

How do private-label customers stay separate?

Each brand owner has its own formulas, labels and approvals. Another customer’s product never appears in its list, even when the base blend is similar.

Does it replace our laboratory records?

No. Your laboratory keeps its instruments and methods. The software stores the results you enter or import against the lot and uses them to hold or release it.

How is a nutraceutical plant quoted?

The number of product lines, laboratory logins and brand-owner accounts decides the work. You see a batch of your own in a working demo before a written proposal.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
