Manufacturing · Software for industrial packaging manufacturers

Link every drum, pail and bulk bag to its steel coil, resin lot and load test.

Industrial packaging makers build steel drums, plastic pails and woven bulk bags that carry chemicals, paint, minerals and ingredients. The software holds each customer’s container specification, the coil, resin or fabric lot behind it, and the leak, drop and lift tests run on the batch. Orders are planned by line, and delivery follows the pallet count the filler expects.

At a glance

An industrial packaging plant makes containers that other factories fill. Steel drums with rolled chimes and bungs, blow-moulded pails with handles and gasketed lids, and woven bulk bags with lifting loops all leave the same gate. Each is judged on its own terms. The filler pays for strength and tight closure. A leaking drum is the maker’s problem the moment it is on a truck.

Software for industrial packaging makers keeps the specification, the material lot and the test record in one job. Planners see the drum line, the pail moulding machines and the bag looms as separate queues. Quality staff see which batch each test belongs to, and a drum, pail or bag sample is never confused with the production run it was drawn from. Sales staff see what was promised. Nobody has to ring round the plant.

How the work runs today

A paint or chemical filler orders drums by capacity, steel gauge, lining and closure type, and sends its own drawing and label artwork. The planner books the order on the drum line, the pail moulding machines or the bag looms, and purchasing checks coil, resin or woven fabric against stock. Steel is cut. It is rolled into bodies, seam-welded, flanged and fitted with chimes, then painted or lined and baked.

Quality draws samples for air-pressure leak tests, drop tests from set heights and stacking checks. Bulk bag samples go through a lift test with a set safe working load. Results are written down against the batch. No batch record means no shipment. Finished containers are stacked on pallets, banded and counted. Then they wait for the truck. A packing list carries the batch number, the customer’s part code and the count per pallet, and the filler’s receiving dock checks the label against both.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for industrial packaging manufacturers without a proper system.

Test results are not tied to a batch

A drop test passes on a Tuesday, and the drums leave on Thursday under a different weld run. The paper record names a date, not a batch, so a customer’s claim has no matching test. Both sides then argue.

Steel coils are drawn without a trail

Coil goes onto the shear and the body maker in the order it was racked. The gauge and the mill certificate stay with the delivery note, away from the drums made from that coil. Nothing links the two.

Specifications differ by filler

One customer wants a lacquered interior and a particular bung. Another wants an unlined drum with a second handle on the lid. The variants live in emails and old job sheets. Memory fills the gap instead.

Returns and rejects are untracked

A filler sends back a pallet with dented chimes. The cause may be forming, handling or transport, but nobody can line the complaint up with the line, the shift and the coil.

Pallet counts differ at the dock

The filler expects an agreed count per pallet and a label format. Short pallets and wrong labels are found after the truck arrives. Fillers then ring the office.

What the software does

What we would build for industrial packaging manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Container specifications by customer

Hold capacity, gauge, lining, closure type, handle and label artwork for each filler, so repeat orders start from an agreed specification.

Coil, resin and fabric lots

Receive steel coil, resin and woven fabric with supplier lot and certificate, and link each to the batches made from it.

Line planning for drums, pails and bags

Plan orders against the drum line, moulding machines and looms, with changeovers for size and colour shown on the board.

Leak, drop and lift test records

Record air-pressure leak, drop height, stacking and bulk bag lift tests against the batch, with the sample size and the result.

Rejects and customer returns

Log dented chimes, weak welds, short moulded shots and fabric faults by line and shift, and trace each complaint to its batch.

Pallet packing and labels

Each filler’s pallet count and label layout are stored once, so labels print correctly and the packing list rides with the load.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions industrial packaging manufacturers ask before they call.

Can a test record be linked to the batch it covers?

Yes. Leak, drop, stacking and lift tests are entered against the batch and the sample drawn. When a filler reports a fault, you open the batch and see which tests ran. Which test method applies and where the pass limit sits is for your quality staff to decide.

Does it handle drums, pails and bulk bags together?

Yes. Each product family has its own specification fields and line queue, while customers, stock and invoices stay common. A plant that only makes one family can leave the others switched off.

Can steel coil certificates stay with the drums made from them?

Yes. The coil lot and its certificate are filed on receipt. Every body-making run records the coil it used, so a drum batch points back to the coil.

How are our current customer specifications brought in?

Your sales team keys the specifications or we import the job sheets, and your quality staff read them back line by line. Before any proposal, we walk through sample drum and pail orders on screen.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
