One record from wire coil to a tested, counted spring.
Manage spring enquiries, drawings, wire coil lots, coiling machine settings, stress relief, setting, shot peening, load testing, finishing and counted despatch on a single record. Each spring carries its wire grade, coil lot and drawing revision, with load and length readings saved against the batch. Settings that worked are stored, and a repeat order begins from those figures rather than from trial springs.
- Specification fields modelled on your customers’ spring drawings
- Open orders, wire balances and saved settings brought over
- Test limits agreed with your inspectors
Spring makers that coil compression, extension and torsion springs keep drawings, wire coils, machine settings, oven batches and load tests in one GullySystem record. Each batch keeps its coil certificate, its test readings and its finishing record until the counted packs are delivered.
What goes wrong before the software.
How the work flows through it, step by step.
- 1
Enquiry and drawing
The buyer sends a spring drawing and quantity. Wire grade, load at height and finish are logged and priced from wire weight, coiling and testing.
- 2
Order and route
The order gets a route of coil, grind ends, stress relieve, set, peen, finish, test and pack. Outside steps are marked.
- 3
Wire receipt
Wire coils are booked in with mill certificate and temper. Each coil is issued to a batch and the link is kept.
- 4
Coiling and first-off
The setter loads saved coiler settings, makes first-off springs, and records changes. Pieces coiled are counted per shift.
- 5
Heat treatment and test
Springs go to the oven in trays, with batch time and temperature recorded. Load and length readings are saved after setting.
- 6
Finish, count and despatch
Springs back from plating are counted. Packs are labelled with batch numbers and a delivery note closes the order.
What is inside.
Every module can be switched on, left out or changed to match how your team already works.
The business modules it is built from.
Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.
- Estimate/Quotation Management
A spring is priced from wire weight, coiling minutes, end grinding, heat treatment and testing, and each revision is kept alongside the first price.
- Batch and Serial Tracking
The coil used for each batch is recorded with its certificate, so a failed spring leads back to the coil it came from.
- Work Order Management
A batch is released to a coiling machine with its route, and operators record pieces coiled, scrap and rework each shift.
- Quality Control
Length, load at height and squareness readings are saved to the batch, and springs outside the drawing limit are held for sorting.
- Job Work Management
Springs sent to the plater are counted out on a slip and checked against the count and certificate on return.
- Production Planning
Open orders are laid across the coilers by wire size and due date, so a changeover is planned instead of discovered.
- Barcodes and Labels
Each carton label prints the batch number and counted quantity, so the customer’s receiving desk can scan what the pack holds.
How we would put it in.
Setup, data migration, integrations and anything built on top.
One system, each person sees their part.
For the owner
See batches by stage, springs held for test, outside finishing loads and quotations pending.
For planners
Load the coiling machines by wire size and due date, and see which coil or oven slot delays a batch.
For setters and operators
Pull up the saved settings for a part, run the first-off, and book pieces coiled when the shift is done.
For the heat treatment operator
Log each oven batch with temperature, time and trays, and release springs for testing.
For quality staff
Enter load and length readings, hold out-of-limit springs and attach finisher certificates.
The numbers the owner asks for.
- Batches by stage and machine
- Coiler settings used per part
- Oven batches with temperature and time
- Load test readings by batch
- Outside finishing loads sent and returned
- Wire coil usage and balance
- Scrap and rework count by part
Who this is built for.
- Makers of compression springs for valves, switches and machine parts
- Extension and torsion spring shops serving seating and hardware makers
- Shops that grind and shot peen heavy springs
- Wire form shops that also coil springs
- Suppliers of counted spring packs to assembly lines
When it is not the right choice.
- A one-person shop that coils to a customer’s sample a few times a month can work from a settings notebook.
- Leaf springs and heavy forged suspension parts are closer to Engine Component Manufacturer Management Software or Manufacturing Production Management Software.
Adapted to your business before it goes live.
You are not handed a login and left to it. The product is set up around your records, your people and the tools you already use.
Works alongside
- Spring tester data import
- Accounting export
- Barcode labels
Questions owners ask before a demo.
What is saved from a first-off spring?
The setter enters the measured wire size, free length and load at height. These readings sit beside the machine settings that produced them.
Can a failed spring be traced to its wire coil?
Yes. The batch holds the coil number and certificate. A failure opens the coil, the oven batch and the machine that coiled it.
Does it keep a record of the oven batch?
Yes. Temperature, time and tray count are saved per batch. A customer asking for the cycle used on a past order gets the exact entry.
How are springs sent for plating managed?
A load lists batches and counts. The finisher’s return is checked against it, and the certificate is attached to the same batch.
Can the system handle very small spring orders?
Yes. A small run is a batch like any other. Settings and tests from earlier runs of the part still apply.
Can we see how much wire is left?
Each coil shows its weight at receipt and issues against batches. The balance is read from the stock list.
What goes into the price?
The price moves with coilers, users and part types. You see the system handle your own wire sizes and spring types first. The quote on paper follows that.
Can our old settings book be brought in?
Yes. Setting values from your notebook or sheet are loaded against the parts. A sample is checked with your setter first.
Who changes the test limits?
GullySystem staff change them on your request, with your quality staff approving the new values. Earlier batches keep the limits they used.
