Instructor Roster and Payouts for Pilates Studios
Each instructor’s classes, privates and substitutions are counted from the timetable and attendance. At month end the payout is worked out from what was taught, using the basis your studio pays on.
The instructor record
Every instructor has a profile that the owner maintains. The profile links her to the classes she takes and the rate she is paid.
How the month is worked out
The month’s payout reads the classes taught, the privates done and the substitutions. Cancelled classes are left out. The owner reviews the figure before it is paid. Each line can be traced to a class, a date and a count of clients.
What instructors see
An instructor opens her week, her clients’ notes and her running count for the month. She does not see other instructors’ pay. The owner and the manager can see all of them.
What the studio decides
Pay rates, whether an instructor is an employee or a contractor, and tax on payments are for the studio and its accountant. The system prepares the count. It does not pay anyone or file returns.
Frequently asked questions
Can pay depend on how many clients attended?
Yes. A rate per client, or a minimum plus a bonus above a set number, can be set up from the way you pay today.
What if a class is cancelled for low numbers?
A cancelled class does not count toward the instructor’s payout unless the studio’s rule says it should. The rule is entered at setup.
Can an instructor teach at two branches?
Yes. Her classes at each branch are counted under one profile, and the payout shows them separately.
Does it generate payslips?
No. It hands the count and the amount to the owner and to the accounts person. The payslip and the bank transfer stay outside.
