Software Solutions for Online Course Providers
An online course is sold in minutes and delivered over weeks, on a learning platform that is separate from the shop. Providers must connect payment to enrolment, hold cohort seats, run instalments and end access when it should end. This page covers instructors, institutes and platforms.
Sell courses online and give every paying learner access to the right lessons.
The shop and the learning platform are usually two systems. If nothing connects them, a person creates every account by hand after payment, and every refund needs a second hunt to remove access.
Providers also sell in several ways: a recorded course any time, a cohort that starts in March, a seat for a firm’s employee.
Individual instructors
One teacher sells courses from a personal site and answers learners directly.
Institutes adding an online arm
A coaching or training centre sells courses online alongside its classroom batches.
Corporate trainers
A trainer sells programmes to firms, which send groups and expect one invoice.
Course marketplaces
A platform lists courses from many instructors, takes payment and pays each instructor.
The workflow for online courses.
- 1
Listing the course
The course is described with its outline, level, duration, start rule and prerequisites.
- 2
Choosing how to start
The buyer chooses a cohort date or starts a self-paced course at once.
- 3
Paying
The buyer pays in full or by instalments. A firm may buy several seats at once.
- 4
Creating access
On confirmation of payment, the learner’s account is made and they are enrolled in the right course.
- 5
Learning and completing
Progress is made on the learning platform, and completion returns to the store.
- 6
Certificate, refund or renewal
A certificate is issued on completion. A refund removes access. A learner is offered the next course as the first ends.
The challenges, and what they cost.
What is specific to this trade.
These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.
- Which learning platform is used and whether it offers an enrolment interface
- Access rules: duration, extensions and what happens on refund
- Instalment plans and what a missed payment does to access
- Cohort sizes, calendars and waitlists
- How certificates are numbered and checked
What we would build for online courses.
Chosen from the commerce capabilities this business needs, not a list of everything.
Who works in the system, and what each can do.
What it would connect to.
An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.
- The learning platform your lessons run on, once its enrolment interface has been tested
- A payment gateway for single fees and instalments
- WhatsApp and email for reminders, if your business number is registered for messaging
- A video or live-class tool, where the course includes live sessions
- Your accountant’s package, for invoices and receipts
How the work runs, and what we need from you.
What you provide
- Your courses with start rules and prerequisites
- The learning platform you use and what it can share
- Your instalment, refund and group terms
Map payment to access
We start by writing down what each payment state should let a learner open.
Run one course end to end
A single course goes from listing to payment, enrolment, completion and certificate before others follow.
Add cohorts and groups last
Seat limits and group allocation are added when the single-learner flow is working.
What you receive.
- A course catalogue with start rules
- Enrolment and access flow between store and platform
- Instalment rules and reminders
- Group seat allocation
- Certificate and completion records
How progress is judged.
Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.
- Enrolments that needed a manual account
- Learners with access after a refund
- Instalments overdue while access stays open

Configured implementation
Discovery picks a commerce platform and a learning platform, and the two are connected so a purchase opens the right course. No GullySystem product runs online courses, so none is named for this solution.

Questions about online courses e-commerce.
Do you provide a learning platform?
Not on its own. The store connects to one you use or one chosen in discovery.
Can it stop access if a learner stops paying?
Where the platform lets us remove or restrict access through an interface. The rule you choose is applied to each instalment.
Can an existing coaching centre sell online too?
Yes. A centre can run classroom batches in GullySystem’s Tuition and Coaching Centre Management Software and sell online courses through this store. Live online classes are not part of that product.
Does it award recognised qualifications?
No. Recognition comes from the awarding body. The store records and shows your certificates.
