Price Lists and Discount Slabs for Auto Parts Shops
An auto parts shop sells one part at several prices depending on who is buying. This module holds the price lists and discount slabs so that the counter does not work them out by hand.
Price lists
Discount slabs
Discounts are set by customer type, brand or bill value. A slab can offer a deeper discount for a larger purchase. The counter sees the price after the slab without any arithmetic. A discount beyond the slab goes to a manager.
Price changes
When a supplier’s cost rises, the buyer reviews the selling price. A change takes effect from the date entered, and earlier bills are untouched. The price history is kept per part.
What the client decides
Prices and margins are the shop’s own. The system applies them and does not suggest a margin. Whether trade customers see a GST-inclusive or exclusive rate on the counter screen is chosen with the client during set up.
Frequently asked questions
Can a garage see a different price from a walk-in?
Yes. The price follows the customer record, so the same part bills at the trade rate for an account and the retail rate for a walk-in.
Can prices be updated from a distributor’s list?
Yes. A revised price list can be imported, and your team reviews the changes before they take effect.
Can the counter sell below cost?
Only with the owner’s permission. A limit can warn the counter, or ask for a manager’s approval, when the price falls below cost.
Does a price change alter old bills?
No. Bills already raised keep the price they were made at.
