CCTV Camera and Recorder Device Register
Every device fitted at a site is listed here with its serial and channel. Service staff and warranty claims both read this register instead of going back to the premises.
What is held against each device
Who reads the register
What the register is not
This is a record of hardware, not a video system. Footage stays on the customer’s own recorder and disk, and GullySystem never holds a video stream. A technician who reads the register before leaving the office already knows the model, the channel and the position of the unit that has failed. The register does not watch whether a camera is online either. An offline camera becomes a complaint call when the customer or your technician reports it.
What the client decides
- Whether serials are scanned from the carton or typed by hand
- The position labels used across homes, shops and apartment sites
- How long each site keeps recordings, agreed with the customer
- Which staff may retire a serial from the register
Frequently asked questions
Can serials be read with a scanner?
Yes, where the carton carries a barcode. The scanner and label printer models are confirmed during scoping.
Will it tell us a camera has gone offline?
No. The register holds device records, and an offline camera is raised as a complaint call.
Can devices put up by an earlier installer be added?
Yes. Whatever is already on the wall can be entered when you take a site over on AMC.
How is a failed hard disk recorded?
The old disk is retired against the recorder and the new one entered, with the claim linked if it was in warranty.
