CCTV Installation Job Cards and Commissioning
An approved quotation opens a job card for the site. The card carries the team, the days on site, the devices fitted and the commissioning steps the customer signs against.
What the job card holds
Stages a job moves through
- Material issued and the van loaded for the site
- Cable laid, cameras mounted and terminations crimped
- Recorder configured, serials entered and recording days checked
- Owner shown the phone view and the card closed
How it connects forward
Closing a card pushes the fitted devices into the camera and recorder register, so the serials are already there when a warranty claim comes up months later. Billing reads the card for devices, material and labour, and the advance taken at quotation stage is adjusted against it. If the site takes an AMC, the covered devices come from this same card. Little is typed twice.
What the client decides
- Which commissioning steps must be ticked before a card can close
- Whether a technician may close a card or only a supervisor
- How recording days are agreed with each customer
- Whether the customer signs on a phone or on paper
Frequently asked questions
Can one job card cover two buildings?
It can, where the customer treats them as one site. Many firms prefer a card per building, and that choice is yours.
Is a part-finished installation visible?
Yes. A card left open shows how far the work has gone, so the office knows what is pending at each site.
Can material used exceed what was issued?
Yes, and the gap is shown. The store then issues the extra against the same job.
Does the customer get a copy?
Yes. A closed card can be sent out listing the devices, their positions and the commissioning steps ticked.
