CCTV Material Issue and Van Stock
Cameras are counted carefully, but cable and connectors are where a CCTV job leaks. This module issues material against the job and counts back whatever returns to the store.
What is issued and counted
Who uses it
Where the figures go
Material issued sits beside material quoted on the job card, so a site that swallowed four extra drums is visible. Store stock falls when a job takes material, and rises when a return comes in or a distributor delivery is received. Items that drop below their level appear on the purchase list. Nothing waits for a month-end count.
What this module leaves out
- Costing rules for wastage, which the owner sets
- Whether a technician may issue material to himself
- Physical security of the van and its spares
- How scrap cable and dead units are disposed of
Frequently asked questions
Can cable be issued in metres?
Yes. Drums are held by length, and a job takes the metres used rather than a whole drum.
What happens to material left over?
It is returned against the job and added back to store stock, so the next site can draw on it.
Can each van hold its own stock?
Yes. A van or a team can carry a standing set of spares, counted apart from the main store.
Is there a count at month end?
You can run one. Stock figures move as material is issued and received, so a count is a check rather than the record.
