Display Stock and Godown Transfers for Showrooms
A showroom holds open display pieces on the floor and sealed cartons in the godown. This module keeps the two apart and records every move between them.
Display pieces
Moving stock
A transfer names the serials leaving, the place they are going to and the person who sent them, and the receiving branch confirms what actually arrived. Stock in transit shows as its own count until that confirmation. A set sent out for a demo at a buyer’s house is followed the same way. Short or damaged arrivals are noted.
Who handles it
What the dealer decides
- Which locations exist and who may transfer between them
- Whether a display piece carries its own price
- Who confirms a transfer at the receiving branch
- How a damaged arrival is recorded and taken up
What the module does not handle
It does not arrange the lorry and it does not settle a damage claim with a transporter. Transport papers can be attached where you want them, and a claim on the carrier is work between the dealer and that carrier. Stock in transit is a count here, not a document trail. Papers stay with you.
Frequently asked questions
Can an open piece be sold at a lower price?
Yes. A display price sits against that serial, and the counter quotes it from there.
What if fewer sets arrive than were sent?
The receiving branch confirms only what came, and the shortage stays open for the owner to take up.
Does a demo set leave the stock count?
No. It is shown as out for a demo and returns to the floor count when it comes back.
How long can a transfer stay unconfirmed?
That is for the dealer to set. Unconfirmed transfers appear on a list until somebody closes them.
