Hair Colour Formulas and Patch Tests for Salons

Each colour service saves the shade, developer ratio and timings against the client. The patch test date and result are kept together on the client’s page, so the next stylist starts from what was done before.

What a colour record holds

The stylist fills in the fields after mixing. The fields are set with the salon, since colour brands and the way stylists describe a mix differ from one salon to the next.

Shade and brand

The colour line, shade number and any tone added are recorded against the service.

Developer and ratio

Developer strength and the mixing ratio are saved. A touch-up can then use the same mix.

Timings

Time on the hair and the area covered, such as roots or full length, are noted.

Result note

A line on how the colour came out, or what to change next time, helps whoever does the follow-up.

Patch tests

A patch test is logged with its date and the result the stylist noted. A colour service for a client with no test on file can be flagged before it starts. Whether a test is needed, and how long a test stays valid, is decided by the salon and the colour brand’s own guidance.

Where it connects

  • The colour service on the calendar opens this record for the stylist.
  • Colour and developer used are counted against stock.
  • The service appears on the invoice and in the stylist’s commission.
  • A touch-up reminder can be set for clients who coloured earlier.

What stays with the stylist

The software stores the mix. It does not choose a shade or judge whether a client’s hair can take the colour. That is the stylist’s call. Allergy advice from a doctor belongs to the doctor, not to the salon record.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can we record a mix of two or three tubes?

Yes. Each tube and its quantity can be listed, and the record can then be reused for the next visit.

Does it block a colour service without a patch test?

It can flag the missing test. Whether the front desk may go ahead anyway is a rule the owner sets.

Can another stylist see a colour mix?

Yes, if the owner permits it. The point of the record is that a colleague can reuse the mix.

Do we need to enter every colour brand we stock?

The brands you use are listed during set-up. New brands can be added later by our team.
