From approved artwork to the dispatched pallet, each reel and cylinder stays on record.

Manage artwork revisions, contract proofs, gravure cylinders and flexo plates, ink batches, film reels, press runs, slitting and dispatch for industrial printing. Every job carries its signed colour standard, the tooling that printed it and the metres it spoiled. Repeat orders reopen the same specification, so the next run begins from the last good one instead of from a swatch book.

  • Colour standards, cylinder and plate lists and job specifications entered from your existing files
  • Jobs still on press, substrate reels in the store and artwork files moved over
  • If a screen or rule needs changing after go-live, ask GullySystem and our team does it

Industrial Printing Company Management Software holds artwork approval, tooling, ink batches, substrate reels, press runs and slitting together. Each job keeps its colour standard, the cylinders or plates used, make-ready waste and the rolls dispatched. A repeat order then starts from a proven record, not from a sample card.

Where it breaks today

What goes wrong before the software.

The approved shade lives on a printed swatch

Swatches fade under the prepress lights and press crews rotate. If a brand owner disputes a Pantone match, the printer holds a yellowing drawdown and no spectrophotometer reading from the run that was signed off.

Artwork revisions arrive by email

A corrected barcode or allergen line reaches one person while the old plate is already mounted. Two versions of one label end up on the same pallet.

Tooling wear is not counted

Gravure cylinders, photopolymer plates and anilox rolls carry impressions that nobody totals. A worn doctor blade line or a clogged cell costs a reel before the crew sees it.

Make-ready metres are written off

Registration and colour setting burn film on every job. The scrap sheet shows one figure for the whole shift, so estimates never learn the true make-ready of a six colour job.

Reels are mixed on the unwinder

Film arrives in different widths, gauges and corona treatment levels. The reel number on the pallet label is not always the one that reached the press.

Ink left in the kitchen is not tied to a job

Mixed ink sits in pails with a handwritten tag. The next order for the same label gets remixed from scratch, and the shade drifts by a visible delta E.

How it runs

How the work flows through it, step by step.

  1. 1

    Enquiry and artwork

A brand owner sends artwork and a quantity in metres or impressions. Prepress preflights the PDF, logs the revision and sends a contract proof.

  2. 2

    Estimate

Reel width, repeat length, colour count, substrate, laminating and expected make-ready build the price, and every revision of it is kept.

  3. 3

    Tooling and ink

Once the proof is signed, plates or cylinders are made and registered. The ink kitchen mixes to the Pantone reference and records the batch.

  4. 4

    Press run

The operator loads a numbered reel, runs make-ready and prints. Good metres, waste and viscosity checks on the Zahn cup are noted through the shift.

  5. 5

    Finishing

Reels move on to laminating, slitting or die cutting. Each finished roll receives a number, a core size, a weight and a metre count.

  6. 6

    Dispatch and repeat

Rolls are packed with a spectro report and packing list. The job is stored so the next order reopens the same cylinders and ink recipe.

Modules

What is inside.

Every module can be switched on, left out or changed to match how your team already works.

Artwork and proof approval

Keep each artwork revision, the contract proof sent and the customer’s signed approval, so cylinders and plates are made only from the version that was approved.

Estimates by reel and repeat

Price a job from web width, repeat length, colour count, substrate and lamination, with make-ready metres drawn from past runs of similar work.

Cylinder and plate register

Record each gravure cylinder, plate set and anilox roll with its repeat length, rack bay, impressions run, chrome rework and re-engraving history.

Ink batches and colour standards

Log every ink mix with its viscosity, solvent ratio and job, and hold the L*a*b* colour reference that each repeat order is matched against.

Press run records

Note reel in, make-ready metres, good metres and waste by cause for each run, with the operator, the press and the drying temperature.

Substrate and reel stock

Track BOPP, PET, aluminium foil, paper and board by reel, width, micron gauge and lot, from goods receipt to the unwinder shaft.

Slitting and rewinding

Plan slit widths and core sizes, then record each finished roll with metres, weight and splice count for the packing list.

Laminating and outside processes

Send printed reels for solventless lamination or cold seal coating, with the quantity out, the quantity back and the loss.

Press schedule

Place jobs on each press by ink changeover, web width and due date, so jobs sharing a colour sequence run back to back.

Dispatch and complaints

Attach the spectro report and packing list to each pallet, and open any brand complaint against the roll number shipped.

Solutions inside

The business modules it is built from.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

  • Quote & Proposal Management

Estimates are priced from web width, repeat length, colour count and lamination, and each revised figure stays beside the earlier one.

  • Document Management

Artwork files, contract proofs and the customer’s signed approval are filed with their revision, so cylinders are engraved only from the approved version.

  • Work Order Management

Each press run is recorded against the job with reel in, make-ready metres, good metres and the operator who ran the shift.

  • Batch and Serial Tracking

Ink mixes and finished roll numbers are tracked as lots, so a complaint on one pallet leads back to its ink batch and reel.

  • Stock Tracking and Alerts

BOPP, foil and board are tracked by reel, width and micron gauge, and a low-stock alert appears before a regular substrate runs out.

  • Job Work Management

Printed reels sent out for lamination or cold seal coating are logged with metres sent and returned, and any loss shows on the job.

  • Production Planning

Jobs are placed on each press by colour sequence, web width and due date, so ink changeovers and washes are grouped.

  • Quality Control

Spectro reports are attached to each pallet, and any complaint is logged against the roll number that was shipped.

Services

How we would put it in.

Setup, data migration, integrations and anything built on top.

Who uses it

One system, each person sees their part.

For prepress

Preflight artwork, record revisions, send proofs and release tooling only after the signed approval is on file.

For press operators

See the reel, ink and L*a*b* colour reference for the job. Record make-ready, good metres and waste from the press side.

For the ink kitchen

Mix to the job’s colour reference, log viscosity and batch, and see what remains in pails for the next run.

For the planner

Sequence runs by colour and web width, and watch cylinders due for rechroming before they are booked.

For owners and sales

Read job margin after real spoilage, open quotations and pallets awaiting dispatch.

Reports

The numbers the owner asks for.

  • Waste metres by press, cause and job
  • Impressions run per cylinder against rechroming limit
  • Ink kilograms consumed per job against estimate
  • Reel stock by lot, width and micron gauge
  • Open jobs by press and due date
  • Repeat orders with their last spectro report
  • Complaints by roll number and brand owner
Good fit

Who this is built for.

  • Flexographic and gravure printers of BOPP, PET, foil and laminate
  • Label and shrink sleeve printers working in rolls
  • Folding carton and board printers with offset or digital lines
  • Printers of snack pouches and wrapping for food and consumer brands
  • Wide-format and industrial digital print shops serving brand owners
Honest answer

When it is not the right choice.

Made to fit

Adapted to your business before it goes live.

You are not handed a login and left to it. The product is set up around your records, your people and the tools you already use.

Presses and tooling

Your presses, repeat lengths, anilox line screens and cylinder racks are entered so planning respects each machine.

Colour measurement

Which L*a*b* values you read from a repeat run, and the delta E you accept on each, are agreed with your colour technician.

Estimate rules

Make-ready allowances, ink coverage and lamination charges follow the way you price today.

Reel and job records migrated

Open jobs, customer artwork lists and reel stock are imported from the spreadsheets you use now.

Common questions

Questions owners ask before a demo.

Does it handle reel-fed and sheet-fed work?

Yes. A reel job counts metres and finished rolls. A sheet job counts sheets and impressions. Both can sit under one brand owner’s account.

Can we track how often a cylinder has run?

Yes. Each press run adds its impressions to the cylinder or plate record, and a limit you set raises a warning before the next booking.

How is a colour standard stored?

The Pantone reference and its measured L*a*b* values are saved against the job. Later runs are checked against the same figures, and tolerances are set with your quality staff.

Can artwork revisions be controlled?

Yes. Each file is held with its revision, the contract proof sent and the approval received. Tooling cannot be released until an approved revision is on record.

Does job cost include the real waste?

Yes. Make-ready metres and running waste are recorded by cause on every run, so job cost uses the film that was actually spoiled, not a flat allowance.

Can outside lamination be tracked?

Yes. Reels sent for lamination or coating are logged out with metres, and the quantity returned and the loss are posted when the reel comes back.

Can the planner group jobs by colour?

Yes. The press schedule shows each job’s colours, web width and due date, so the sequence can cut washes and ink changeovers.

Can we move open orders and reel stock?

Yes. We import your job list, artwork records and reel stock from spreadsheets, and the press floor compares a sample against the reels on the rack before go-live.

What happens when a brand complains about a roll?

The complaint is opened against the roll number. It leads back to the press run, ink batch, reel lot and spectro report that went with that pallet.

Who sets up and supports it?

GullySystem staff set up the press list, tooling and job types. Changes after launch are requested from the same team and quoted when they are large.
