Paint Company Schemes and Claim Records
Paint companies run schemes on purchase slabs, targets and painter loyalty. This module holds each scheme, the purchases that qualify under it, and the claim raised afterwards.
Kinds of scheme a dealer sees
From qualifying purchase to credit note
Each scheme is entered once with its period, its product groups and its terms as the company circular states them. Purchases received in that period are marked against the scheme, by hand or by product group. When the period closes, the claim is put up with the figures the shop can show. It is then followed until a credit note arrives from the company, and the note is matched against what was claimed. A gap between the two is recorded, not smoothed over.
Who uses the claim register
What the company decides
- Scheme terms, periods and product groups are set by the paint company.
- What a claim is finally allowed rests with the company, not the software.
- Dealer portals are not connected; the claim is filed there as you do now.
- Accounting treatment of a credit note is for your accountant or advisor.
Frequently asked questions
Does it file the claim with the company?
No. You file it as you do today, and the register holds the figures, the date filed and the reference given.
Can purchases be marked against two schemes at once?
Yes, where the company terms allow it. The register keeps both markings, and the figures read separately for each scheme.
How is a short credit note handled?
Entered at the amount actually received, with the difference against the claim left visible for the owner to take up.
Are painter scheme points calculated here?
No. Points belong to the company programme, and the shop keeps only what it billed to each enrolled painter.
