Paint Stock by Shade, Base and Pack Size
Every tin on the shelf is counted by brand, product, finish, base and pack size. The counter reads that count before quoting, and the godown works from the same figure.
How an item is identified
Four things together make one stock line. Anything that changes one of them is a line of its own.
Where the packs sit
Paint is rarely all in one place, so the count keeps three figures apart. The shop shelf holds the fast moving sizes within reach of the counter. A godown behind the shop, or down the road, holds buckets and the slower products. The third figure covers packs already loaded on a challan and not yet signed for at a site. Moving tins from godown to shelf is entered as a transfer. Neither count drifts that way.
Who works with the count
What this module does not do
- It does not read the tinting machine software or hold company formulas.
- Reorder levels are set shelf by shelf; the shop fixes them, not us.
- Physical counting is still work for your own staff.
- Shade cards and fan decks stay with the paint company.
Frequently asked questions
Can a pack size carry its own reorder level?
Yes. Each company, product, base and pack size holds its own level, and everything under that level gathers on one list.
Is the godown counted apart from the shelf?
Yes. Shelf, godown and goods out on a challan are three figures, and your staff enter the transfer that moves tins between them.
How are batch numbers used here?
They go in on receiving and show again when a pack is picked, so the older batch leaves the shop first.
Does the count cover brushes and sundries?
Yes. Brushes, rollers, tapes, abrasives and thinner sit beside the paint lines, each with its own pack or unit.
