Site Delivery and Challans for Paint Orders
Paint for a building site rarely leaves with the buyer. This module sends packs out on a challan and matches the signed copy back against the invoice.
What a challan carries
Out of the shop and back
Packs picked for a challan leave shelf stock and sit as goods in transit. Until the signed copy comes back, the shop can see what is out and with whom. On return, the copy is marked received and the quantities confirmed. Anything the site refused goes back into stock the same day. A challan still open after a few days appears on the owner screen, which is usually when a boy is asked where the paper went.
Short deliveries and returns
What the shop arranges
- Transport is yours to arrange; no carrier or fleet is connected here.
- Whether a painter may sign for a site is the shop own rule.
- Site addresses are entered by your staff, not located for you.
- Any GPS or vehicle tracking is a separate matter to be scoped.
Frequently asked questions
Can packs go out before an invoice is raised?
Yes. The challan stands on its own, and billing follows from it once the site has signed.
Is goods in transit counted as stock?
It is held as a third figure, apart from shelf and godown, so the counter does not quote tins already on a tempo.
What happens to a tinted tin the site sends back?
It joins the unsold tinted pack list with its shade, since the company will not take a dispensed tin back.
Can one challan cover two sites?
No. One challan belongs to one site, which keeps the signing and the returns clean.
